The 2080 Ti was priced higher than that at introduction. I am hoping to get a 3080 Ti while my 2080 Ti is still worth more than $1000 on eBay.

Now we know $1199 for the FE. The EVGA FTW3 Ultra version will be priced higher than that. I would think somewhere around $1500 - $1600. At that price point, the 3090 looks just as attractive.

Ideally yes, but since finding a 3090 for around this price is almost impossible right now the AIBs are capitalizing on this

Unless there is no more notify queue for the 3090.. at the price point of 1600 ore more for a 3080 Ti I would just get the 3090 FTW3 and extend that warranty to cover you for 5 years.
I got mine back in November.. still works..

Everybody is capitalizing on whatever it is that's happening right now. Which means, buying anything on the high end is super dumb during this season. If 3060 isn't an upgrade, pretty much anything above that point isn't worth paying the vig.

Any guess is good until EVGA posts pricing.
My line of thinking is this: the 3080 FE is priced 699.99, and the 3080 FTW3 Ultra (3897) is priced currently at $889.99, so a 27% increase. The 3080 Ti FE is priced at $1199.99. A similar 27% increase would be $1525.71. Round up or down from there. The “Ti” premium would put it at $1549.99 or maybe a little higher at $1599.99. Round down, starts pricing around $1499.99. So, I’m sticking with somewhere between $1500 - $1600.

I would expect prices like this from Gigabyte and MSI but EVGA has been pretty lenient on how much they charge above MSRP. I'm thinking around $1400-1450 for all models except for the hybrids and hydro coppers.

You may be right about that. I held out all this time for the 3080 Ti using my GPU from 2015. After getting some sleep after the announcement, I’m now thinking that the price point is a bit high for me to justify to my wife to complete my build. I’ll probably just start trying for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra and upgrade next year or the year after once the market is no longer in such chaos. Then again, this chaos may end up being the new norm.

So for $1889.99 you can bury a EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra from the notify queue after a few months or more of waiting. If the 3080 Ti is close to that price there is really no point in buying a 3080 Ti...

They will absolutely be scalped, but it's possible they wont be asking for nearly as much. And supply might be a tiny bit better because the 3080 ti and 3070 ti are both LHR. So there are no non-LHR versions to be had for this series.
