It depends what you wanna play. The 3060TI have maybe a bit problems with Tripple A games, but E-Sport should work fine on both! But I would go with an 1440P just because of the new standard xD
 

I don't see how a 3060 Ti wouldn't be able to handle 1440p just fine. It's going to hit 144 FPS easily in any competitive game and for most AAA titles super high framerates aren't really important, so why play them at a lower res?.
 
I'd say VRR is a huge feature too, and makes all those AAA games where you can't keep a steady 144 fps much more enjoyable. Framerate drops, when not massive, are pretty much unnoticeable.

I have a 3060 ti with a 1440p 160hz display and it’s a great match

Got a i7-8700k and 1080 ti, which has very comparable performance to the 3060 ti and running a 1440p 144hz monitor. Simply put you should have no trouble running at anything at that res and as long as you go for high settings instead of ultra, you can get 100+ fps on quite a lot of games. Anyway, you should also expect to have a bit of a lower life expectancy in terms of hitting your preferred res and frame rate for your card if you run a higher res monitor as the power necessary to run a 1440p monitor, while not that much more than 1080p, is is still more.

I think the doubts regarding fps are valid, however my GPU which is much worse (R9 390x) can run Valorant on 1440p fine (144hz locked). And for me, the resolution upgrade made a big difference in the game. So I can also recommend 1440p for this (kind of) game.

Depends on what you playing and what do you want from your card. Competitive games definitely 1440p. Triple-A titles should run on 1440p but on some of them if you push all max settings you should drop below 144fps, but if that doesn't bother you well yes 1440p way to go.

If I can ever get a hold of a 3060ti, I will be using it with my 1080p 144hz monitor as I don't want to spend the money on a 1440p monitor yet.

Exact same setup here, no issues.

neither, better to try and go 4k. Different experience , gaming on a large 4k TV

I never knew that a monitor is responsible for FPS.. i am just new into this pc gaming thing..  i have a ryzen 9 5900x cpu and a radeon rx 560 gpu believe me i knew NOTHING of video cards but now since i do know i can not even get 1 video card this is ridiculous ...this is NOT the time to go into pc gaming.. and they called this the master pc race... i would say race as in sprint not race as in breed.

I dont know if you have been suggested this but 1440p! lol. At least if you want to see what you can get at 1080p youll still have the choice, but the natural resolution should be 1440p with a 3060ti.

1440/144 would be the better choice. 
 
I have the 3060 (not ti) and my 1440/144 doesn't seem to struggle. Some games I can't get the full 144hz out of, but when I finally get my hands on a 3080 or 3070 (so I can pass the 3060 down to my daughter) I'll be able to. Monitors last a long time so no point is hamstringing yourself for the future.
