Thanks!  Just cut the bottom out of copper.  Still some coding to do on the O-rings for the bottom that mate with the actual cards.

lol looking at all 4 of those on my SR-X, makes me nervous, so much copper I bet a slight tilt would snap the PCI-E lanes like a twig.
but i know youll take care of it, too bad you dont have 2 xeons to test it with huh?

I only wish I had a single xeon to fire up this monster setup.  Its very well supported between the dense foam underneath.  the PCI-E slots on the board are more durable then the card.  The failure point would more likely be the PCB of the card, not the slot.

I actually have an I7 2011 socket which I hope will work (don't have enough for a xeon or two right now) that I could mail you, but then you might be tempted to keep it! Hehe

SO its been a while, but here is a quick look at how the bridge will function:

You will have to forgive the appearance, but the copper began to tarnish.  It will be polished and sealed

Thanks! It's going to take some serious dedication to polish that copper bridge.  Lots of tarnish.  Should have sealed it a while ago.

A vacuum bag could be a temporary solution at least it will slow down the oxidation

Welcome to the forums!
Anything more then a few hours without complete removal of any oily residue will result in oxidation.  I have an SR2 block that I cleaned off immediately after it came off the CNC, and its still shiny over a week later.
