I wish I would have been a bit more active around here. Gotta love this tight community. I really hope it's not suddenly locked one day, though. Ya know when the plug is pulled, sometimes it's pulled hard. Wowzers about 17 years for me!

Good to hear from you BF3PRO. Some of us old timers are still around. I don't know if you have caught the news of Jacob leaving EVGA, and landing @ Nvidia? Not sure what is in the cards [nice pun,ehh?] for EVGA. But it is very weird for me looking at the new GPU series, only to have to buy another manufacturers card. Wish I didn't have to. One thing that keeps me here are the decent people and the folding team.

I didn't post much when I first joined many years ago, but have been much more active the last few years. I do hope this forum keeps living as I enjoy it. Not sure what we'd do or replace it with if it does get turned off some day.

I had one of those too! I think that's the only time I used the step-up program as they soon-after launched the 780i and it was an odd one because they expected 680i to be compatible with the newer CPU and it wasn't. That's pretty much all I remember about it lol. That board and an 8800GTX (which later got a second 8800GTX for SLI) were my intro to EVGA.

over 14 years here, it's been quite awhile. As for the future of EVGA, when they stopped making GPUs was a big thing, but when they added that they wouldn't make GPUs by anyone else either, nor expand into new markets, that felt very final to me. Not expecting anything from Computex either atm, but we'll see.

14+ years here and hoping that continues, but the future of EVGA is uncertain, sadly. I hope EVGA at least keep the forums going indefinitely, or let someone take over the database and move it to a new home if worse comes to worse. A huge source of good info on these forums, and some really good people.
Considering EVGA are still selling items with attached warranties, I would think they'll be going for a few years yet, just to cover warranty service claims if nothing else.
Not happy with the CEO for ending this great company, apparently just because he didn't want to let someone else take over the reins.

I don't think EVGA has anything up its sleeve. Its rebuttal was easily disproven.
I think the future will consist of point, counterpoint, denial, silence, and then suddenly this community will be nuked and there will be nothing but somebody on yahoo answers asking why their GPU fan is clicking.

Another thing I miss is the popcorn eating emoticon. 
One of the best. I miss the daily habit of coming by and checking in with this community. I switched jobs at the end of 2022 and work life has taken over...and my daughter has taken over my gaming rig...to play Hogwarts Legacy of all things...looks beautiful, by the way. As I think back over the last year, I would have loved to have mixed it up in the forums over the import of the GenAI revolution, the rise of Meta's threads and the utility of Apple's googly-eyed goggles...but life has gotten in the way. I hope everybody is doing well, grabbing a s'more at a firepit when the opportunity arises, and generally trying to leave light footprints across our shared landscape. Be well.
