HeavyHemi Well, if you right click on the image and select 'view image' in Fire Fox, you can view them full size. Not that it provides anything but a static screen shot.
Or open image at new tab/card :P

xH4wK Any benchmark I check on the internet proves that it does not take twice as much power to drive 1440p.. but you still keep saying yours.. whatever, you are not worth my time trying to convince you.
Then you must be on an imaginary version of the internet. I just checked over a dozen different video card bench reviews.........I have yet to see any video card running capable of running 1440p resolutions at framerates similar to 1080p at identical settings(minus the obvious native resolution)unless there is some type of software cap in place. ;) Theoretically and assuming perfect driver and game optimization with no bottlenecks but the gpu redering power 1440p needs 1.8 times the gpu power to drive a 1440p monitor to identical frame rates as a 1080p monitor. Now obviously that just isn't the case but on games that can fully utilize a gpus potential and bottleneck it, that is exactly the case. On most games that doesn't have a vsync or hard coded program cap that is the case. Quick example: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-780-ti-review-benchmarks,3663.html And this is an OLD benchmark review, since this time some of these numbers have been increased favoring 1080p even greater with the latest Nvidia drivers. So, I don't see 1440p running any games at 1080p framerates, where the frames do get close is due to coded or vsync caps, not because the video cards got magically stronger at running 1440p resolutions ;) . Again time to do the math: 3686400 pixels vs. 2073600 pixels.

I think both of you are talking past each other. Generally speaking, going from 1080p to 1440p is going to cut your FPS by about a third. Source: http://www.guru3d.com/art...i_matrix_review,1.html SLI Source: http://www.guru3d.com/art..._geforce_review,1.html
There are no theoretical perfect systems. It's far easier to discuss what is. I think we can all agree, higher resolution require more rendering power except in very low resolutions where you are essentially at a pure CPU limitation. Crysis 3 being somewhat of an example of that. Hardly anyone, especially on enthusiasts forums, runs those.

one third is about right, I was too lazy to find graphs as it wasnt worth it for me. So generally speaking he was wrong, it is far from half what Ntrain96 said several times..

Actually no I wasn't wrong. Again though, you have to make sure that all other potential bottlenecks are taken 100% out of the equation, specifically the most common one is the CPU. As for those posted benchmarks above, the comparison resolution being done at is with 1920x1200p, not 1080p. If those runs were done at 1080p assuming no cpu bottleneck etc. those fps would be even higher. For example Crysis 3 with my 1080p monitor runs just over 80fps on average with a single card, but when I swap to my friends 1440p monitor the framerate is now in the mid 40's using identical settings minus the native resolution. That's about half the framerate roughly.

You're nitpicking. The difference between 1200, and 1080, is one or two FPS. I've just provided several examples that show it's nowhere near the FPS being cut in half, period. Lets move on.

Getting a lot of problems too with my 780ti Superclock. Getting graphics drivers crashing, fps going as low as 5 in some areas with 2x TXAA, MBHAO everything else at max settings & vsync turned off. Also getting alot of problems with certain textures "showing through stuff". I'm trying to like this game but am finding it very difficult.

don't bother playing on ultra with AA, you need more vram for that. I am sure that NVIDIA is working overtime right now to bring out the new 800 series cards sooner so people can line up to upgrade.

There is no real difference AA on/Off frames still drop to horrible levels. However the main concern for me are things like those leaves just showing through everything, even buildings. Its not just that either, road markings & fences all do it to. Made the game pretty much unplayable.

All you have to do is set the textures to HIGH and all the stuttering problems will disappear if you have a 3GB 780ti. I run the game at 2560x1440 and 1920x1080 everything on ultra except for Textures which are on high. I use Temporal SMAA at 2560x1440 and 4X MSAA at 1920x1080. Both of which are stutter free. The stuttering is the worst when you reach this area of the map.

i'll upload video probably tommorow from work, coz of my 0,5Mbit upload at home. You will clearly see on the video that game runs fine but because of bad SLI profile/game optimization there are frame skips and shutters together with few fps drops.
Whats the point of a static set of screen shots that I really cant see well? LOL! Reread post # 102 I made and what your disputing after that post concerning 1440p and 1080p.
Here you are. The game runs flaslessly on 1440p, the only frame drops are because of stuttering which is cause of unoptimized game/SLI profile.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-rXq8K9sAM Even developers admit that the game isn't well optimized... but you just keep saying that it's user problem - and that 1440p has half the performance :D http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/29/ubisoft-working-on-pc-patch-for-watch-dogs-offers-advice-to-boost-performance/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/744909/pc-games/watch-dogs-sli-or-more-false-advertising-/2/

The problem isn't as much the game, as it is made for higher end memory GPUs which the PS4 has, from what i hear they have an 8gig GPU that runs watchdogs pretty good. You can't complain that the company sux just because most ppls GPUs can't handle, or made to handle the next Generation of gaming. It makes me pretty angry about the whinning ppl are doing about how bad the game is when it seems Next Gen consoloes can play it okay, unless i'm wrong. What Ubisoft should have done though is say that only 4 to 6gig GPUs have enough VRAM to play this game. I really don't see a reason for Ubisoft to make Patches that only waters-down the game to a lower lvls. Yes the Stuttering in the game and some of the fights and using cars that cause stuttering should be fixed. But I would be smart enough to buy the game for the 800 series, and play it in all it's glory, because now Ubisoft has to water down and maybe even dumb down the game, just because ppls Cards don't have what it takes to play the game. Remember that Nvidia should be at fault really, not Ubisoft, as Nvidia did a lot of the games graphics Optimization that this generation of GPUs can't handle with eception to 4gig 770s and the 6gig 780s and Titans. Mayne ppl should start complaining to Nvidia as well. Me, i would like to buy Watchdogs for the 800 series GPUs

actually the memory issue can be fixed, the game needs some recoding, something I don't see Ubisoft investing in for the PC version. but if we get enough petitions from the PC community they might do so. they just need to relocate some of the data to work with the system ram instead of vram on the PC.

I won't, and shouldn't deny that watchdogs has other problems that i hear of than just the memory issue. But I think Nvidia was optimizing this game for more of the 800 series. I think that Nvidia should share in some of the blame to. Ubisoft said they will make a Patch, and I hope it works for every1.

this is a golden opportunity of NVIDIA to release 800 series cards with 6gb of VRAM. I think NVidia planned this way back, I got stuck with 3x 560ti's because of 1gb of vram, could not play BF4. this is their way of making us upgrade.

There is nothing next generation about Watch Dogs i would like to add. It actually looks quite terrible even on max. There is no reason it should be this demanding or run this bad. 50 to 30 fps on a high end system with 780 ti sc 3gb. Im hoping that Nvidia is very very embarrassed atm. Nextgen gaming on slow consoles :P it always makes me giggle when people say stuff like that. a Geforce titan only have 2.5x the performance of xbox one or ps 4. And the 780ti is even more powerful. I would like to add that the game besides looking terrible. Textures are fairly okay resolution, nothing amazing. The view distance on max is terrible, things poping in right in front of you. Texture quality and view distance is usually the memory hog, so what exactly is it that is supposed to eat 3gb ram at 1080p. The cars have arcade like physics, they are being forced to land or revert back on their wheels. so its not that either.
The npcs is fairly bad in regards to their AI. so that isnt taking resources either. What exactly is it that is requiring all this performance?. when you eliminate the impossible what you are left with is the truth. thus crappy optimized port, just like GTA 4. its nothing new. But dont dare call this game next generation gaming.

i bought GTA4 and.. OMG regret the day i spend 60€ on that poorly optimized game! a friend of mine bought watch dogs (PC) and he is terrified with the experience he is having on his pc. think he has a vanilla 780 and a core7 (4th gen). he said i could borrow it so i could install on my machine but i don't think it would run any better. and YES! he also said that this game SHOULD NOT be this demanding on hardware and run this bad at the same time. he is tempted in returning the game and i said for him to wait... eventually there may be a patch or a batch of patches to fix this game. and hope this is not the so called " NEXT GEN GAMING" as well... it's embarrassing! damn console ports.... we invest too much on our machines to be faced with this software junk that runs and even looks better on 400€ consoles.

I wouldn't expect Nvidia to start their 800 line of GPUs yet. They just released the 740 and Titan Z, and I see that ppl are buying the Titan Z. Like any Company they want to milk their products for everything it's worth. And as for ppl that say this isn't Next Gen gaming, i'd say that depends on what ur point of view on different things. I would say that when i have looked up on the parts that are under the hood on a PS4 for instance, it can easily be better than even some of the best Computers. I say SOME, NOT ALL, but a lot. People usually don't have the money to throw around for an AMD specially accelerated 8 Core CPU. I was wrong about the AMD/ATI GPU being 8gigs, and am very sorry. But it's 4gigs that does circles around any other GPUs for gamers right now, when the PS4 GPU can do Teraflops (spelling) which is very very fast. PS4s RAM is only 8gigs, but is hell fast at 5500mgthz. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_4_technical_specifications, and for better English ppl can check out amazon.com on other PS4 stats. Some ppl think this isn't the Next-gen gaming, but i very much disagree. The PS4 is not a PC, but the next-gen consoles can be on par with a lot of PCs now, and Yes i know we can have 32gigs in our PCs at 2400mghtz, but whether ppl believe it or not the next wave of GPUs will be very interesting to watch and see. It's way past my Bedtime here @5:00 am, and have fogotten all the stuff I was gonna type up here that would make more sense, but i can't do that right now lol. :p

Tell me about it. Even til this day i cant run that game properly. Rumor even has it that the reason GTA 5 isnt coming to PC is because they got all girlie mad about the backlash of the GTA 4 port. Its their own damn fault. That game will forever be in my top 5 of horrible game ports.

warrior10 I wouldn't expect Nvidia to start their 800 line of GPUs yet. :p
Um no. PS4 is a console that is already dated IMO. It already struggles to run games at a consistent 60fps at 1080p. In fact when there are games that are 720-900p due to not having the hardware to run at 1080p it throws up a big red flag. Its basically a glorified AMD 7850 graphics card. Not exactly "next generation" horsepower in my book.

RMJ1984 There is nothing next generation about Watch Dogs i would like to add. It actually looks quite terrible even on max. There is no reason it should be this demanding or run this bad. 50 to 30 fps on a high end system with 780 ti sc 3gb. when you eliminate the impossible what you are left with is the truth. thus crappy optimized port, just like GTA 4. its nothing new. But dont dare call this game next generation gaming.

That's because its a console PORT that was designed for unified memory architecture. Not because its a graphics powerhouse. Give the developers some time to patch it. ;) That shouldn't be too hard to do.

gungnir2014 don't bother playing on ultra with AA, you need more vram for that.
I KNOW you and many others are having issues with this game, but i have to ask how are guys with GTX 770's playing it without problems? youtube is loaded with walkthrough vids of guy's using nothing more than a single 770 maxed? here is just one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzUZ_Loyp7c

No it isn't. It may be poorly optimized but the leading platform was the PC.

patch will only fix bugs, crashes, freezes, some stutter which is normal for a launch game, etc. the game will remain the same in terms of vram usage.

certifieddan Getting a lot of problems too with my 780ti Superclock. Getting graphics drivers crashing, fps going as low as 5 in some areas with 2x TXAA, MBHAO everything else at max settings & vsync turned off. Also getting alot of problems with certain textures "showing through stuff". I'm trying to like this game but am finding it very difficult.

Ntrain, a lot of things that you bring to the table are just not right at all. A lot of things are just bad opinions without merit to. The PS4 is Not at all outdated, and is still doing very strong and well in sells. What you said about the ATI/AMD GPU just being a 7850 means that they just took the design and made it a much better Monster of a GPU, at that you obviously have not read about. Also the PS4 is not struggling with 1080ps at all. If you would read about stuff before commenting you would know that 1440 runs okay and that the Blu-ray drive should handle stuff up to 4k without a problem. Whether we find that the PS4 can run 4k games later on is not known, even though some ppl think the PS4 can't at least for right now. And if you would listen to other ppl that have PS4s, then you might see that it runs good on their systems. Some PS4s that are /bugged or a bad copy of watchdogs would be the reason why a PS4 wouldn't be able to play Watchdogs. Ntrain, you seem to really deny the truth, even when it's right in front of you. So much so, that I just can't take your posts with real credability because you seem to deny, or just argue with ppl even when they are right.

Warrior10 is right. The PS4's have a couple little minor issues that the narrators talk about when I watched some PS4 gameplay. Minor stuttering once in awhile. Lost connection to the server too. It's the PC that has the bigger problems. The PC version needs a patch badly.

Hey Bud, it's running okay because as I saw linked to his GPU info, he has a 4gig 770, and Gof it looks so awesome :) The 770 Classifieds have 4gigs on each GPU

just because the ps4 hardware isn't capable doing 780ti numbers in terms of GPU power it doesn't mean it's not doing next-gen coding due to a unified 8gb GDDR5 memory system, close to 1200 shaders, when compared to PS3 which had only 16 shading cores and only 256mb of vram, that it is a huge huge difference. PC games before PS4 came out were all running engines that were build on those weak last-gen consoles like the ps3 and xbox360. This is why you are now seeing PC games like Wolfenstein and Watchdogs using far better engines that use much much more of Vram than ever before. You really have to be blind and ignorant not to see what is happening here.
