so it looks like the g12 bracket now fits the rtx cards without modding, I asked nzxt and this was the conversation (10:02:26 PM) Peter Neufeld: g12 bracket (10:02:56 PM) *** Dominic joined the chat *** (10:03:01 PM) Dominic: Hello, and thank you for contacting NZXT. How can I help you today? (10:03:34 PM) Peter Neufeld: i have a question about the g12 bracket (10:04:00 PM) Peter Neufeld: on your website its says it support the rtx graphics card, is this correct? (10:04:25 PM) Dominic: Yes (10:05:06 PM) Peter Neufeld: but when i go to a retailer like new egg or amazon it doesnt show support for the rtx series (10:05:21 PM) Peter Neufeld: so how do i know if i am getting the newest g12 bracket? (10:05:36 PM) Dominic: We only have one G12 (10:06:32 PM) Peter Neufeld: but if you look here (10:06:42 PM) Peter Neufeld: it shows no support for the rtc cards (10:06:44 PM) Peter Neufeld: rtx (10:07:01 PM) Dominic: Amazon probably just hasn't updated their site. (10:07:10 PM) Dominic: But we only have 1 G12 Bracket that we made. (10:07:35 PM) Peter Neufeld: so the g12 will have a specific bracket for the rtx card? (10:08:21 PM) Dominic: Yes (10:08:21 PM) Dominic: RTX uses the "A" brackets for mounting (10:09:08 PM) Peter Neufeld: ah ok thanks. (10:09:24 PM) Dominic: You are welcome. (10:10:04 PM) Peter Neufeld: i am using a evga 2080 ti, the use the refernce pcb , same as the founders edition, so the g12 bracket should fit correct? (10:10:40 PM) Peter Neufeld: they use the refernce pcb*** (10:11:41 PM) Dominic: Yes (10:11:43 PM) Dominic: It will fit. (10:12:23 PM) Peter Neufeld: perfect. thanks for your time (10:12:53 PM) Dominic: You are welcome! (10:13:36 PM) Peter Neufeld: haved a good night (10:14:20 PM) Dominic: Have a good one!

That's glorious news so for those in a hurry can go grab the AIO bracket and AIO cooler from them. Of course I'd recommend a 240mm rad for these GPUs.

I had a feeling these would work with the cards just fine.

I have a Corsair 460x case, and I already have a Kraken x52 on my i7 8700 k, the Kraken is on the front of the case. For the GPU I was thinking of going Corsair just because it's more simple with less cables and you don't really see any of the RGB anyways. But I don't know if I could put a 240 mm rad on the top I think it might hit my Ram. So that just leaves the rear to put a AIO cooler on which is 120 mm

A nice thick 140mm AIO with two fans, like the Kraken X41 (or X42), can handle the heat load easily - if your case supports 140mm. I've got a X41 on one of my overclocked 1080 Tis and it is just as cool as my other one with a X61 (low to high 40C range depending on on the game).

I was wondering what radiator would be competent enough to cool a 2080ti. I've got a corsair h55i 120mm rad and it keeps my 1080fe oc (+200core +575mem) in games at mid to high 40c range. Summer it hit around 51c, now that "winter is coming " it's around 40-45c. This is with 62% fan speed. It looks like the wattage for a 2080ti is similar to the 1080ti under max load so I would suspect it would run around the same as a 1080ti. I'm going to guess low 50c to high 50c in the summer with the same radiator and fan speed. I'm more concerned with vram temps. What will the ddr6 vram temps be like without a heatsink on and just a fan blowing on them? I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to buy a few m2 ssd drive style heatsinks and lay them across the ram.

The cooling with direct airflow is better than thermal pads>baseplate>fan on VRM's. Not 100% sure about memory but it should be ok (you can always get some low profile VRam heatsinks). Oh and I head about the AMD mounting points fitting too.

Supposed to come November 13th-15th, going to install over the weekend never taking apart a GPU before so this is kind of new territory. I have dellided CPUs and such so hopefully not much more terrifying than that lol

To get you more comfortable, I would check out this youtube video from EVGA to get more confident about it. Just remember this isn't identical but similar to what you'll be doing. It won't be that hard. I would even use some quality TIM like MX-4 since you'll be disassemble the GPU for a hybrid kit.

NZXT said it should just fit with the" a bracket" with no modification

How is the memory getting cooled though ? Seems on the Evga hybrids it has a copper plate that attaches to the pump.

Believe it or not, the little fan takes care of it better than using the stock cooler/fans.

if you go to nxzt website it now lists the 2080/2080ti as compatible with A bracket. I already have one so I'll confirm my results with a h55i aio when i get my 11G-P4-2382-KR next week.

I just remembered when i modded my 1080fe I needed a pwm adapter and splitter for the rad fan to be controlled by the gpu. It's not necessary but it's nice to have. costed an extra 12 bucks to do. I'm not sure if this will be required yet for the 2080ti. Possibly not considering it has two fans. I'll update after thanksgiving. 4Pin PWM Fan Adapter for VGA Cooler Fan PWM Cable Splitter Duplicator

I'm sorry to be a Debbie Downer but I applied the NZXT G12 bracket to my 980 Ti Classified card with a Kraken X42 and ruined my card. Your experience might be better. I believe the Kraken copper plate didn't meet well enough with the GPU. Everything looked hunky dory but wasn’t. Temps looked fine until I tried running the old GeForce Apollo demo. It smoked it. If I could reverse time I would probably add a copper shim just to be safe.

That sucks! I actually had a Gigabyte 980 ti under a G10 and a Kraken X41 and it worked just fine. Then, for a short while, an EVGA 980 Ti Classified under the same setup until I stepped up to an EVGA 1080 FE, and then did their generous re-stepup (I forget that offer name, it's been the only time that I've seen it) to an EVGA 1080 Ti FE - all under that same G10 and X41 without any issues. I even recently purchased a used, non-EVGA 1080 Ti FE and put it under another G10 and Kraken to no I'll effect.

I believe your problem wasn't the bracket because the gpu would shut off. Jays2cents actually did this when he did the 1080ti.
What most likely happened was the preapplied thermal paste got on the bins when you applied it. The gpu chip is significantly smaller than a Cpu so if you didn't apply your own paste it most likely got everywhere. I suggest artic mx4 because it's not conductive. Take a flashlight to see if there's a gap. No gap you're good.

All done, took my time, used the "A brackets" which are the AMD brackets. No modification needed. Thing I screwed up on I bought a Corsair h75 cooler but you need a specific serial# h75 for it to work.... I didn't pick the right one so I had to use my nzxt X52 cooler which was my cpu cooler... so had alot of swapping around to do, now I have the Corsair h75 cooling my cpu(8700k @5ghz)and nzxt x52 cooling my GPU Results: Gpu stays at 50-52c(was 88c on stock cooler), overclocked GPU to 2070mhZ stable, haven't gotten into the memory yet.
One other thing to note was EVGA put WAY too much thermal paste on... Probably why I was hitting 88c.. seriously thermal paste was everywhere...
