Hello guys I just built a pc and I am very sad... I can’t use my EVGA RTX 2080 TI. It doesn’t reconize it, It doesn’t even shows me the gpu in the BIOS like if the pci-e slot were empty.
My motherboard is an: Asus z390-F.
When I turn on the pc if I plug the hdmi to the graphics card it shows screen for like 2 sec and then the graphics card rgb turns off and I also get black screen and the image never comes back nether the rgbs like if just die there.
If I plug it to the motherboard I can get into the BIOS.

Things that I tried:
Resetting the BIOS
Clear cmos
Update bios to last version
Enable and also disable secure mode
Set everything on legacy and UEFI mode
I have try everything...
And I saw a lot of people using the same graphics card and same motherboard without any problems which make me feel very frustrated.... What should I do to make it work? Please help friends :(

That almost sounds like a weak PSU. What are your system specs  to include make and model of PSU?

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I would agree that we would need to know the PSU. Could you let us know what PSU and what motherboard? Also are you using two separate cables from the PSU to the video card or one cable with two connectors split off of it? It's best to use two separate cables if possible.

Do you have both PCI-E 8 pin's in the GPU when attempting to power it on?

Some of the EVGA cards have dual BIOS, I would look for a BIOS switch and attempt the other setting if you have it.

Could be a MB issue - bad PCIe slot

Is the GPU fully seated, locked into the PCIe slot & level ?

EVGA RTX 2080 TI ---> Wich EVGA part number  ?

All power sockets plugged in on the card with separate PCIe cable per socket ?  Test with different PSU outputs & cables ... could be a PSU issue

    MB - Asus z390-F

    PSU - thermaltake 850v

    CPU ?

What other hardware is in your PC ?

Have you tried different PCIe slots ?

Your MB have switches to turn PCIe slots off/on ?

Test MB with a different GPU

Test GPU in a different PC

Also..Disable (Enabled by default) "Fast Boot" in the Boot section of the BIOS and see if it matters.

If possible, try the GPU in someone else's rig.. when you have so many new components, you need to eliminate possible causes before deciding it's the GPU. As a couple of others have said, it sounds like it could be a power issue to the GPU.

Hello again, thank you for all your answers!
My motherboard is asus Z390-F (also tried asus z390-e) same result.
    PSU: thermaltake 850w
CPU: Intel core I9 9th gen
    Ram: 4x8GB G.skill 3000ghz.

I tried both cables situations. First I tried with only one cable that splits at the end, then a tried two cables from the psu to the graphics card and still the same problem.

I contacted Asus and they told me that EVGA is not a qualified vendor for them, they told me that is not compatible but then they told me as long as my evga has 16 pins for the pci.e and should be 3.0 or 2.0 it would be ok.
And I also saw a lot of builds using Asus with EVGA cards.

    The part number is:
    11G-P4-2281-KR
    (EVGA RTX 2080 ti)

If 2 [4] weeks old evga may exchange with a refurbished card.

The warranty terms state "Subject to availability". Even if only 1 minute old, it may be replaced with a refurbished replacement.
