Ok people If you think about it, you are all rich , 20 years ago, you couldn't''t buy this kind of PC power with all of Bill Gates Cash. and now your sitting in front of a desk with 4 or 6 cores, Mega bites of memory and Gigabytes of storage. What would even a 8800GT or a 260 have cost, when everyone was monochrome. What would IBM have paid to have what you have, back when they had single core 8080A processors, NO hard drive cassette loading programs, and 640K memory.
How much would NASA have given to have one of these when they launched apollo 1.
Don't really think that argument works.. relativity being a major issue. Using the same reasoning, we all gutter-crawling paupers if you compare our current water-cooled 4GHz multi CPU & multi GPU personal computers to the wrist-mounted holographic 3D display mind-controlled personal interface units that will be common fare on the EVGA forums in 2050..

If I were rich. I would not go splashing out on garbage like lambos oh no, I would be restoring old classic porches and VWs and spruce up my shed a little with some descent tools and stuff. My life would be complete :) oh and bitumen my driveway, all 200m of it.

If I had any kind of money I would buy a house, get custody of my kids and buy a nice f150 and maybe have a few sr2 builds dedicated to folding

poor as hell.
if i was rich i prolly would not be online playing games. i love games but i play on the computer cuz it keeps me out of trouble. if i was rich i could get real lawyers an get out of any trouble i got into. so i would be traveling the world just having run if i was rich

Celebrities flaunt wealth because image is everything to them. But wealthy, self made millionaires usually don't flaunt. They know what they have and they don't need to prove anything. Most of them live their lives just like us. I am sure you run into wealthy people all the time, you just don't know it. A good example is to observe your boss or owners of a company or businesses.
I am sure there are individuals in this forum who fits this description. But they won't admit it. Maybe you should PM owner(s) of EVGA.
If you see a flashy person or someone tell you he/she is wealthy, you may as well send your money to the guy over sea that has your inheritance.

Have no TV's cant afford to replace them.. the 40" im still paying for on my Best Buy card.
I have a DVD player hooked up to a 22" monitor that i have had for about 3 years, that i bought with some bonus work money, for my nephew, when he comes by from time to time.
So if there are some rich people on these forums...that think a couple k is a drop in the bucket. replace my TV ! .. nevermind, i will just save for a couple years and buy one then.

Closest I am going to get to that is when I visit my best friend's brother. He happens to own Gunnar Optiks ( http://www.gunnars.com/). Dude goes through ultra-expensive cars like candy. He just sold his Nissan Skyline GTR (~$75K) for a 2011 Ferrari California (~$220K). Oh and before the Skyline he had an Audi R8... and before that it was a Mercedes S65 AMG (twin-turbo V12 FTW). He never lets me drive them though. Sadface.

This is an interesting thread. I admittedly scanned through the thread quickly checking to see if their were any legit replies saying yes I am one of those people out of curiosity. Does that make me a bad person or mean I have false values? I don't think so. Curiosity killed the cat with 9 lives

If I was Billionaire I would have 10 Computers running all the Time and each one would have my Favorites Games always on Room Cooling system for my PC's liquid hydrogen. Toilets 3 feet apart from each other, Than a Centralized Kitchen Super Stock with Goodies I mean Food and a lot of Veggies cause believe or not they give the most Brain power. no candy blah empty calories.Bed room would be far away like 60 feet so as to get my Morning exercise. Walk to let out flatulence before I head to my Omnipotent Gaming Room,Cause let's face it don't want to create a fire or Spontaneous PC Combustion.

If you count my family money I would be classified as "rich" by any most of the world's standards. Rich enough that buying things like SR-2's and Xeon x5680s would be considered "small money" to my family.
But I'm making my own way in life. Neither my parents or I think I'll be able to learn anything off of family money. I'm just out of college, have just gotten a full-time job (which I found myself with no parental contacts on the company inside) and I"m paying for e'erthing out of my paycheck.
Did you pay for college on your own? I sure didn't have that luxury of getting school paid and am dealing with it now and still have not landed a job... A degree means nothing in this economy... everyone wants 5-7 years exp.

Even that doesn't help all that much. I had years of experience, but no degree so I couldn't get a job, so I put myself through college and I now have 2 degrees with honors. Once I finished study, it took me six months to find a job which is under-paying me, and I am about to be laid off after about 18 months with them - purely based on seniority, nothing to do with ability. It doesn't matter what you know, it's WHO you know. For all the people I know who have 'made it', not a single one of them have done it on their own. Not one. In every case, it's either been a family business, family money has set them up in business, or their family knows someone who knows someone.. you know what I mean. The rich get richer.... Yeah sounds like I have a chip on my shoulder, and maybe I do, after working my guts out year after year, doing all the 'right' things, not buying a house when I can't afford it etc etc, and I just get nowhere, whereas irresponsible idiots get nice houses they cant afford and have the banks forgive half their loan and drop the interest rates for them not paying their loan. The only thing I have learned is that it pays to be irresponsible and/or cheat, and the ones who pay the most for it are those who work honestly and make responsible decisions.

I know of 2 members for sure, but will not be saying whom they are...
One of them could buy the Evga Corp with his spending money, yet lives a fairly normal unassuming life.
You will find that most wealthy people will not disclose being such from fear of being targeted by unscrupulous people.
on that note, that place i work at i find that the people who can afford to pay top dollar for caviar and the such are the ones who are not A holes and just come across as normal people, the ones who are upper middle class who buy 20-30 caviar and consider it expensive are the ones who end up standing out cause they feel like they have something to prove. obviously thats not universal but it seems to hold true a lot of the time in my experience.

I think the richer people on the forums push 100k a year. Which is reasonable. if you drop like 12k on a new system. You still havee 88k to spend on bills, family needs, house and so on. And to be honest. People won't tell you there income or even state that rich. Just for safety sakes. You don't want someone to begged on the forums for 'parts' or have your car dented or keyed.

If i were rich i wouldn't be considering selling my rig at this stage of my life. Loss of my ability to get unemployment while going to school due to my wife being diagnosed with lupus and advanced MS caused me to fail a 2 classes doctor visits ER visits doctors mis diagnosing and causing further problems.
But I still feel i am rich in the fact i have my health, my wife is still alive and we both still love eachother. So my suggestion to everyone is You are rich if you have love, be it a girlfriend wife mother father child etc. You came into this world with no money you leave the same way. Its what you do with your life that makes you a rich person.

The subject is so subjective. Before I was married, I was living with my parents in their detached 8 car garage partially converted into a recording studio. I had zero bills. My cars were paid off and I didn't have to pay rent. I had over 20 thousand in my bank account and I would just blow money on stupid stuff and other people. I found a receipt the other day from Circuit City and I spent $148 on an HP printer!!!   I went to concerts, snowboarding, where ever, ate where ever and then. I got married... My wife was in debt , I all of the sudden had a car and house payment and bills. Now I am paycheck to paycheck. I have 2 multimillionaire uncles and they have never given me a cent.  So, no, I guess I am not rich and comparatively, I never have been.

I'm rich then because I have Madrias I have love and give love  . I've my Brother and Mom too, With all the bills we 3 live paycheck to paycheck and even that's not always enough to cover everything. My brother is learning to drive so we try to scrape together a few dollars sometimes and get an ice cream or a pie each (meat pie). I guess I'm also rich in that we get a bit of family time and enjoy ourselves and don't think on what needs to be paid for a little while.
