I'm in the market for a no nonsense, reliable and decent oc'ing motherboard. I have noticed the evga boards seem to be less used against the more mainstream ones. I have also noticed the classified has been dropped by evga and OverclockersUk no longer sell any of the boards.
I can purchase the FTW elsewhere but am worried that I might regret it?

There is the Classified K. Worth, always subjective, but if it has the features you want, then you should be happy. I left EVGA for Z77, and regretted it. Just make sure you have the spacing you want on your PCIe slots. Some boards prefer to have the cards sandwiched, some with a gap.

I do like the look of these mobo's but wonder why they dropped the classified, which had better looks and better pch cooling?

Have no idea, mine has been great so far. Haven't had any issues with it and would buy another in a heart beat.

Like I said, they have the Classified K. Which may be the same exact thing except with that stupid Killer Network chip.

Features that are now more important to me are reliability and a manufacturer's duty of care with future & ongoing updates. Evga seem to fit that bill. Not like i.e. Gigabyte where they historically (and still do?) drop any further updates when they release a new edition.
I currently own an Asus Pro Z170 and it does punch above its (cost) weight, but feel it lacks that quality I now crave. But I am your somewhat typical fan boy that buys into great products and then loyalty branding and have been impressed by evga's ethos. Just wished I did more homework when I first built this pc, oh the things I would of done differently:).
The omission of any internal usb 2.0 seems a little rebelistic but I get what they are trying to do, but they must of had some real sales losses, especially when you take into account things like the abundantly sold Corsair AIO's that use clink & usb 2.0.

ps. The Bold Now's are from what I have now become which from the bug that is PC building. There is no cure and brown box deliveries at my door gets me a squelchy inside:)
