I'm thinking about upgrading from a 980ti hybrid and thought this might be a good upgrade for 1440p gaming. I'm thinking about getting the RTX 2080 FTW3 ultra. Also would the RTX 2080 fit in my case? There's a picture of the inside

Should be about the same width as your average GPU.  The custom PCB's from the FTW3s are just taller so to answer your question, yes it will fit.

    What case is that btw?

Corsair graphite 760T. But would my CPU bottleneck the graphics card?

Give us a complete list of your PC specs, including your Monitor Model, Res, Hz, etc.

For reference, the 2080/2080Tis are both used for 1440p with the 2080 Ti best used for 1440p/144hz.

My monitor is an Asus PG279Q 1440p 165hz monitor. Here's my pcs specs. I have an Asus Z170 pro gaming motherboard, 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 2666mhz, an i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6 ghz, and an EVGA 980ti hybrid

Do you think it would be a good upgrade coming from a 980ti? I just don't want to have to worry about the CPU becoming a problem in newer games. Like cyberpunk 2077, that might be more CPU intensive

if cpu is with 2080 a bottleneck you can only update it to a better cpu or complete system.
till this happend stay with your system
use overlay tools in game to the the utilisation of the cpu in game

    I dont think a 4.6 ghz i7 is the problem for 1440p and 144hz

I think you'll be fine cpu & gpu ... no bottlenecking

. but I don't see where you listed your current power supply? ..or how old it is .?

Yeah it's an 1000watt fully mudular evga power supply. Kinda wish they had smaller 1000watt power supply's though. There's barely any space between the power supply and the hard drive cages. Do you think I should get the XC ultra or the FTW3? I was going to get the FTW3 directly from this site but they don't accept the discover card lol.
So I was thinking about ordering the XC ultra from bestbuy. Do these GPU's sag a lot?

What games are you playing or considering playing? I don't think an optimized game would have any trouble with a i7 6700K but of course not all games are the same.

Either card is a beast , for sure.  I believe the 'black' version is the only one that doesn't have a backplate for extra support. ..and it would help if your motherboard has the extra tuff reinforced pci slots

    Even an i5 6600K doesn't bottleneck a GTX 2080 Ti.

I assume you're refering to the 2080 Super XC Ultra Best buy has for $769?  Lotta card for the money.  Since you're already set up for the hybrid though, you might want to look at a 2080 Super XC Hybrid from Newegg for $789.  Though you might want wait for prices to drop back down a shade:

    https://pcpartpicker.com/...;sort=price&page=1

It's also important to point out that if you're considering the 2080 Super, the FTW3 cards have a MUCH higher power limit in the bios than all the normal cards, which may give you more OC headroom.  Stretching your budget a bit over $800 for the 2080 Super FTW3 Hybrid would be totally worth it, or wait for it to go back below $800:

    https://pcpartpicker.com/...eo-card-08g-p4-3288-kr

Or just get the air cooled FTW3 2080 Super from another vendor.

I'm thinking about upgrading from a 980ti hybrid and thought this might be a good upgrade for 1440p gaming. I'm thinking about getting the RTX 2080 FTW3 ultra. Also would the RTX 2080 fit in my case? There's a picture of the inside

This is highly dependent upon the game and will vary from a few percent to nearly 20%.

I ended up buying the 2080 super XC ultra. Is that a good upgrade coming from a 980ti hybrid? To go along with my 6700k at 4.6 ghz. Will there be any bottlenecking at 1440p? Or should my CPU be good for awhile. I'm also upgrading to the Corsair vengeance RGB ram at 3200mhz. Coming from 2666mhz

Here's a more recent review of a RTX 2070 super that has data for a ton of GPU's... You will see the performance increase is going to be very noticeable.

Should be a great card, hopefully they release a 130% power bios.
