Basically KB5016691 upgrades MS Edge to 105 and that's where the problem lies. If you are having the same issue...here is the fix

Good to know in case anyone's PC I take care of asks/complains about it. I uninstalled Edge quite awhile ago, so wouldn't see this issue myself...

You can now search for the controls for news and interests on the taskbar and modify them using the Settings app. To change your settings, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > News and interests. Otherwise,right-click the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
- New! All taskbar orientations now support news and interests. A top, left, or right taskbar now has features and settings much like the horizontal taskbar.
- Addresses an issue that requires you to reinstall an app if you did not get the app from the Microsoft Store. This issue occurs after you upgrade to Windows 10 or a newer OS.
- Addresses a rare error that leads to a blue screen. This occurs after you change the display mode while you are using more than one display.

I'am in the dev insider program, today it updated to Windows 11 Insider Preview 25252.1000 (rs_prerelease) to find that the mouse buttons stopped working, so I had to roll back the update and is fixed now.

A minor issue on my laptop, win10, battery icon on taskbar was gone after restart. Another restart brought it back.
Desktops win10-11 all good.
