20H2 just installs like a regular update, and it's pretty fast because there's not really much that got changed. It doesn't reset or nuke drivers either, but it did change Windows settings. 


Ah ok, well nice that it's a quick install, that's annoying about the settings stuff though.

LOL I'm an idiot.  Not used to the new 2nHn naming scheme and I thought I was on 20H1.  Forgot 20H2 was the first time they released it like that and I've been on it for a couple months.  I don't really remember any settings getting changed but again it's been a while.

latest update is supposed to fix stuttering in games, that some people were seeing -

Windows 10 has received a preview version of a cumulative update, and it’s one that gamers might want to apply if they’ve been having any kind of trouble with stuttering or flickering (or indeed other rendering issues) when playing certain games.

As Microsoft states, patch KB4601382 (for Windows 10 May 2020 Update and October 2020 Update) applies the following fix: “Updates an issue with screen rendering after opening games with certain hardware configurations.”

As it’s in preview, you’ll have to manually find and install this bunch of fixes via Windows Update (this patch will be next month’s cumulative update when it lands on March 9 – but folks who are exasperated with the bugs that it cures may just want to grab it now to save them from another week of pulling their hair out).

As mentioned, as well as the problems with games, there are other fixes here. These include several display-related bugbears like an “issue that might cause video playback to flicker when rendering on certain low-latency capable monitors”, and incorrect refresh rates showing under advanced display settings when it comes to HDR-capable monitors.

Updated a few of my machines yesterday & today.
 
Only thing worth mentioning - that Might Help someone else ...
 
My X58 Rig crashed during Win10 updates ... removing all OC from BIOS & it survived update second try
 
lesson learned .... no matter how stable your OC is in benchmarks, games or Folding ... if Win10 crashes during update ... remove the OC

After the recent update my Windows Updater simply died as half of the files. The only way to fix this problem was to reinstall the system, lol.

Windows 10 KB5000802 (March 2021 update) has been going seriously wrong for some PC owners in the last twelve hours, with several users reporting that the botched update is causing Blue Screen of Death errors when they use printers.

To make matters worse, KB5000802 is an automatic security update, which means it has been downloaded and installed automatically for some customers. Users didn’t have a say in whether or not Microsoft should install the update and break their computers with BSOD

March 2021 cumulative update is proving troublesome for PCs with printers, going by reports on online forums. According to reports, Windows 10 completely crashes and throws up a Blue Screen of Death with stop error code “APC_INDEX_MISMATCH for win32kfull.sys”.

The problem was first confirmed by one of our readers, who told us that the update is causing BSOD when using printers in their organization:

“This update seems to be causing blue screens when printing to Kyocera Universal Print drivers. Have had at least 20 confirmed cases from 4 different clients already and it’s only been an hour into the day”.

Reports of printer failures include Kyocera, Ricoh, Zebra, and others.

It’s not clear how many machines were affected by this problem, but we’ve seen numerous reports of error popping up here and there.

The most worrying thing is that Windows 10 simply crashes when users try to print via Notepad, Office and other apps. This happens only when your device is using an affected printer/printing driver.

my system wont boot after the update KBKB4589212 system just hangs on A0 code and I have to restart 3 time to get it uninstall this update

(Only problem so far is I had to get my Precision to run again at start up. Otherwise no other problems thus far.)

Still having an issue with the KB4589212 update after the update system will hang on the A0 code anybody else having this problem with this update???.
