Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

Coffee conniseurs can be just as nuts a extreme overclockers.
(snipped)
To join the tiny elite club of true conniseurs (ie: fruitcakes) you need to buy a home coffee roaster, buy your own green coffee beans and roast them yourself. About 24 hours after roasting, stored in a container with holes in the lid so carbon monoxide can dissipate, the smell coming off those beans will make you realize how stale most mass produced coffees really are.
(snipped)
A good website for coffee freaks is sweetmarias.com.  They've got an excellent selection of brewing and roasting equipment as well as an awesome selection of green coffee beans, individually cupped (tasted) and hand selected from coffee farms around the world.

Ack you beat me to it haha.  Yep, I use sweetmarias a lot.  My personal favorites are the earthier Sumatran's.  I started out with a $100 roasting kit I bought after seeing an infomercial.  I burned it up finally and broke down and replaced it with http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.genecafe.php which is miles better than the infomercial special.

I lived in Seattle for almost 10 years, but for the record I hate Starbucks, yep burnt beans.  Occasionally I don't have any freshly roasted on hand and Peet's makes a halfway decent substitute.  Oh and yeah, I'm nuts, I also have the Maestro grinder on this page http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.baratza_mills.php after destroying a similar style (burr) grinder from said infomercial company.

I have drank alot of different coffee from all over the world, some are tasty some are just outright nasty, while some have no flavor at all while some are so bitter you have to put a pinch of salt to  cut or neutralize the horrific taste. Folgers is my everyday pot-o-brew, but jamaican coffee is one of the world's best they really grow good beans on that mountain and roast it the old fashion way for centuries to this day. as a kid I used to hike up that mountain in the summers and look out on the sorrounding land with all its beauty and splendor, ahh I truly miss those days..

I like buying coffee beans and not the already ground up coffee I store it in the fridge and when I make me a cup grind the beans. I like it this way its alot better and tastes great.   I try different kinds of beans Colombian and regular are my 2 favorites!

mountain thunder pure 100% KONA peaberry.  $62 a pound.

the kind of coffee that ppl who only drink dank beer and top shelf booze have in their kitchen. Got myself 8 pounds when i was in Kona, Hawaii last summer.

everything else is pure crap after it.  everyone ive sampled it to has hated me, cuz after you drink it everything else truly tastes like poo.

My favorite lately has been "Tropical Kiss" from bocajava.com.  It is a medium body blended with hints of chocolate and coconut...  It is delicious.

Tried a few other things from the site, and really like it.

Blue Mountain and Java.

Stay away from the multiple chains, go for smaller independents if you are visiting a cafe.

Anyone ever in London go to Monmouth Coffee for some of the best coffee here.  Found Austria and Germany to have really excellent coffee in almost every cafe we visited.  While in Tokyo we found a coffee shop where the guy takes up to 20 minutes to make a cup of coffee for you to your taste.  He tastes every cup he brews and he works a 7 day week selling nothing but coffee.  Man he must be wired by the time he finishes work.  But he brews the best coffee I have ever tasted.

I really like Nescafe Tasters Choice hazelnut coffee (instant). I mix it about 50/50 with Tasters Choice decaf instant. Good stuff and quick.

Once upon a time had a proper cappuccino machine.. there was a coffee called "Kilamanjaro" that I'd buy from a specialist coffee shop.. fresh ground and then brewed.. the smell was amazing.. as was the taste. Nothing quite like the real thing.

I have my coffee with a generous amount of skim milk, and no sugar.

Special coffee - with a nip of Baileys Irish Creme or else Kahlua - are nice on a cold night too.

I grind my own and enjoy different kinds but this is where I buy most of the beans I use, give them a try.  They have a good variety, really dark to very light and several decafs also.

Now that's the kind of beans I like! I like it black and strong, but it doesn't have to be strong for me to like it. The best coffee I have ever had by far was in Europe. France and Italy namely. The best I have had in the states was from here http://www.honolulucoffee../index.cfm?section=home I have had it from their cafe, espresso and latte's, but haven't had there drip coffee. Other wise Seattle's best will work.

I miss the Navy coffee, out of those Big green camo cans, but waffle house coffee isn't bad as long as it's sat for at least 3 hours, to let some of the excess water evaporate. just a tad of cream for color, but never ruin a good cup of coffee by putting sugar in it.

Maxwell House Master Blend Mild. 3 scoops to a 10 cup pot in the morning. 2 scoops to a 12 cup pot in the evening. It's all about scalability.
