The linked adapter mode is only native to Windows 10 so older operating systems for Windows don't support this.

    UPDATE:
Obviously in this article I’m talking about the Windows operating systems. From the looks of it, Linux will support multi-GPUs.

Was OK with Win 10 until they decided to cram driver updates down my P/Cs throat. I have tried to roll them back to what worked great for me and it updates them again...................Not happy

That is easily fixed by doing this...

#1 Set device installation settings set to "No".
#2 Set windows update to disabled inside services.msc.
#3 Set windows update tasks to disabled inside taskschd.msc. Done.

To update windows once a month just re-enable the above and check for updates. Done. Don't forget to disable again after updating for the month.

I just saw this on Pcgamer.com too, which is great news for all involved. Dx12 can go ahead and preorder its tombstone now, lol. Hopefully windows 10 can follow it right into the grave since it's draconian, our users are stupid policys helped dig the hole. Without dx12 there's really no good reason to put up with the 10 shenanigans.
Edit; Sorry guys, my comment pertained to this headline being wrong and that Vulcan will support multigpu setups in 7,8,10 and linux. Info here: http://www.pcgamer.com/vu...clusive-to-windows-10/

I have used the registry settings shown here to disable drivers coming through on Windows update and they work flawlessly. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/48277-enable-disable-driver-updates-windows-update-windows-10-a.html

If uncomfortable messing with the registry - another option is to use Shutup10.  It has a few settings in it that will disable Windows Update from installing drivers - https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

"LDA mode has been available on many versions of Windows, including Windows 7 and 8.x," Khronos Group said.

This is obviously good news for proponents of Vulkan who are rocking multiple GPU setups on older versions of Windows. It also might motivate developers to choose Vulkan over DX12. It's worth mentioning that Star Citizen is dropping DirectX support in favor of Vulkan. Cloud Imperium Games developer Ali Brown said the decision was made because Vulkan enables single-API support for older versions of Windows (and Linux) without sacrificing performance and features.
