Should be a very easy question, but I need to make sure before I buy.  I have a USB C connection on the front of my PC case.  I want to be able to use it to plug in things like data cables [USB with mini USB], game controllers, things like that.  My current case only has two USB 2.0 ports and the one C port.  If there is an adaptor that is very good quality, please let me know.

Thank you!

I have the short adapter but like the ones better with a 6 inch cable

Easier to get to for rear sockets

I may have gotten it at office depo but amazon also has them

MacALLY  is another short adapter brand that works on my Mac Studio ports

Thanks for the input.  I'll look into getting one of those.  I do have a question about the one that has several plug ins available from the one USB C.  How does that work, when you have input from multiple things connecting to the one port? I can see a one to one adapter, but not the multi.  I'm not well versed in this sort of thing, though, so appreciate the knowledge.

It works, there's enough bandwidth.

I guess I'm looking at it from [probably] and old school mindset where each port performs one task.  One USB C with several things plugged into the 4 USB 3.0 ports [not that I would...a couple at most] is what was throwing me.  But I suppose the motherboard parses all that out.

It's worth pointing out that when using multiple ports at the same time it will reduce the speed between the devices. That said though USB-C is so fast most things can't use the speed it offers anyway. If what you are plugging in uses the older type A connector it's more than likely only using USB 3.2 or older and limited to 5Gbps or slower. USB-C would be at least 10Gbps so it shouldn't run into any issue running two USB-A connections at the same time without a slowdown. If it used for example USB 2.0 you could in theory plug 20 devices into it and not notice a huge slowdown. Just keep in mind though that if something is plugged into a USB port and you are not using it windows will still talk to the device and it will use some of the bandwidth but not much but is a reason I wouldn't use a hub with a mouse or keyboard if I could avoid it.

Thanks for your input, Hoggle.  Mostly, I will use it for a headset connection and phone charging/pulling images.  Perhaps the wireless plug in for a mouse.

You probably would not notice a speed decrease. It really depends on what you are plugging in having the Blue on the USB or not. If it does not it likely wouldn’t show a slowdown no matter how many things you plugged in. If it’s blue maybe a slight decrease but probably not really noticeable.

I normally look at the difference to charge a phone going from 1hr and 27 minutes directly plugged and 1 hr and 32 minutes plugged into a hub to really be something you probably won’t notice for example. Of course you will get people who benchmark everything and will tell you that moving a 2Gb file was 3 seconds faster without a hub used. For charging a device it really depends on the hub you are using since most phones are under 30w of power. Since USB C can be up to 100w and enough power for a laptop it really shouldn't be an issue depending on the hub.
