I used to play this game back in January and didn't have this problem, so I think a patch between now and then has messed something up (after googling, all of the results of similar problems come between March and now). Basically, the character portrait will randomly start flashing while I'm playing (it always happens when I change my loadout) and will not stop until I restart the game. While it plays fine, it's very annoying that it does this. I'm confident that it isn't a problem on my end after looking at countless, unresolved posts stating the same thing. Also, this does not happen if I disable SLI, which isn't a nice solution as it cuts the FPS by more than half. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Here is a video of the problem that I found on YouTube:

Also, it doesn't happen if I have it setup as 2 way SLI + GPU3 dedicated to PhysX. In most of the threads that I read with users reporting the same problem, all of them had an SLI setup, with the vast majority being 2 way SLI. Is it possible the bug was addressed for SLI, but not for 3-way SLI? Again, if I disable SLI or run 2 way SLI + PhysX, the problem doesn't happen. Unfortunately, the difference between 2 and 3 way SLI in this game is rather large.

    That didn't fix it. :(

Could anyone from EVGA help out? I've posted this on the Blizzard forums and all over nVidia's forums but I'm not getting any help. It seems like it was fixed sometime for 2 way SLI, but never fixed for 3 way SLI.

I have 2 way sli on gtx 580s and the problem has happened once. It didn't hurt my gameplay any so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Have you stress-tested your GPUs recently?  Perhaps a good Furmark session might cause some artifacting, confirming the possibility of a failing GPU.

It is a pretty well known issue in WoW.  I highly doubt it has anything to do with any system issues at all.  WoW itself doesn't even begin to stress a GPU.

When Cata came out, Tri-SLI was working fine.  I can't confirm if Tri-SLI isn't or is working properly rightnow because I've removed 1 gpu from my new setup.  I do like to make one comment.  Patch 4.2 is a little buggy.  I can't get into my WoW client unless I click on the WoW.exe file after launching the blizzard updater.  The blizzardlauncher.exe file doesn't launch my client after I click the play button.   Keeping that in mind.  It wouldn't surprise me if Blizzards poor craftmenship has "borked" the video in a way relating to your 3way SLI problem.  Patch 4.2 seems to have been rushed, and that could lead to errors on their part.

Since I raid later today, i'll probably enable 2way SLI and see if I experience any similar problems, and get back to this thread.

I personally haven't had any real issues since the patch but I have read of quite a few.  Have you tried to disable addons?

It's not the addons.  I erased my addons folder, tried it, and it didn't work.  Updated my addons after that, and it still didnt' function properly.  Tried the WoW repair, it fixed the file, and the game instantly launch properly like it should.  After logging off the game and opening the blizzardupdater, it didn't work again.

I could probably eliminate the problem if i just delete and install a fresh WoW client, but I can live with just going into my folder and clicking on the WoW.exe file after the blizzardupdater is up.  Some people on my server are experiencing the same problem, but they just let it sit there and wait roughly 5 mins for the login screen to pop up.

i used to run three  gtx 260s on tri sli and it would flicker like that, now this was a long time ago when the 260s were new.  If i remember right i could alt+tab out and go back into wow and most of the time it would stop. sometimes my buttons would not even show up though. I think what i did was enable vsync in game menu it cut my fps back to 60 but in wow thats more then enough.

Vsync didn't fix it... thanks for the suggestion though.

2way SLI is working fine... Can't really see the problem posted by the OP since I use xperl.  Everything else is working fine.
