In all seriousness, who is this card actually for?  I sort of got the Titan Black (Gaming/Workstation hybrid) is this just an extension of that?  Is SLI dual compute going to be better than high end Quadro?

Interesting....."DX12 will span PCs, XBox One, tablets and even phones".

"In addition, NVIDIA will match Microsoft OS support for DX12. Over 70% of gaming PCs are now DX11 based. NVIDIA will support the DX12 API on all the DX11-class GPUs it has shipped; these belong to the Fermi, Kepler and Maxwell architectural families. With more than 50% market share (65% for discrete graphics) among DX11-based gaming systems, NVIDIA alone will provide game developers the majority of the potential installed base".

Other reports are saying it will require new hardware to support all DX12 features.

I don't get the people who are complaining about the price of this.  Do you have 3x 4K monitors that you need to display on?  I'm guessing not, because if you did you probably already spent 5K on your monitors.  Which means you're either loaded and can afford this card without problem, an idiot, or some type of graphical artist - in which case you'd buy this card for work use and think you got a great deal.  If you dont have 3x + 4K monitors, you dont need dual GTX titans.  In any case NVidia offers a GTX 780 ti at 1/4 the price of this.  Go buy two of them and save yourself 50% for nearly the same performance.  Problem solved.

Actually I like this design, I used to own GTX 690 and loved the design, It is more power efficent, takes less space and is just more accomodating, I think if this was 2300$ it would be a great deal, I remember 2x gtx 680 and 1 x gtx 690 cost the same, so I do think that 2x Titan Black and this should be close to each other. My .02$. :)

I dunno, advertising this puppy as having 12GB of frame buffer memory is a bit misleading.   It's 6 GB per GPU, like taking two cards in an SLI config, only they reside on a single pcb...  each GPU bringing its own memory to the table, effectively only providing 6GB of unified frame buffer memory to work with.

Quadro cards offer a true, contiguous/unified block of memory to work with, no?

4790K / 32GB G.Skill Trident X DDR3 / ASUS Z97-A / Titan X (Pascal) / Samsung 850 Pro / Corsair 800D / Rift + Touch / Vive / and just a wee bit of water cooling...

More like architect/interior designer/ visulaizer who uses 3dsmax and uses iray for renderings/animations.

I can buy two Titan Z's for the price of one QuadroK6000.
That is 11,520 CUDA cores processing(Titan Z) vs 2,880 CUDA cores processing(Quadro K6000).

But with a full 12GB of addressable frame buffer memory on the Quadro vs. the split 6GB + 6GB non-unifed Z's memory... no?

Correct. Nvidia had a little oops when summing up the memory on the Titan Z in that fashion.

If you are buffering over 6gb of a model, you have some serious workflow issues. We have full blown Revit models of 400,000 SF schools that have structural/electrical/mechanical/plumbing/civil all included that don't hit over 500mb max.
