I had some problems like this when I was younger but thankfully it was taken care of off school grounds and the other guy practically stopped bothering me.  "Never mess with the taller and stronger ones, bullies."

My own kids had the same prob with bullies when I first moved to this town(Barrie, ON). My middle guy, Josh, has a big heart, and worked with the "special needs" kids at the school, helped them out in class and at recess. He often had to step in when the bullies would go after the special needs kids. This was in grade 6 BTW.
 
On one occasion he stepped in and was grabbed by two bullies who held him against the wall. The third bully started beating on him, Josh attempted to fight back, but was in a bad place. His older brother, Dave Jr jumped in and took out two of them, before a teacher got involved.
 
Both of my boys got suspended. Jr, well okay, he kicked azz, but Josh? Man, he took a licking, should not have been suspended, the wife and I fought it all the way with the school board and the suspension was removed from his record. On a roll, we fought about Jr's suspension, considering a teacher was standing right there and did nothing to stop the whooping Josh was getting, Jr had to stop it.
 
His suspension was expunged from his record as well.
 
I hope Casey's parents fight the suspension, the video proves he did nothing but defend himself, and didn't use excessive force. Props to that kid, he showed a lot of patience, took a lot of abuse, and then finally said: "ENOUGH!"
 
Don't give him a suspension, put him on student council, he should be the poster boy for anti-bullying, the kid is awesome.

Now that this vid has made its way to youtube, I reckon the bully feels about this big: |____| especially given he was pwned infront of the girl there lol.

Interesting to see full disclosure of names and faces. I'm guessing the person who released it was independent from the two in the fight. All I can say is kids with camera cellphones in school? In my day, teachers would have gone ballistic about that.

I applaud the big guy for standing up for himself however I can also see myself feeling sorry for his family if he managed to hurt the other kid in such a manner that had the bully's parents suing the other kid's parents. It's a two way street quite sadly. If I found myself being bullied I would push off the other kid. NOT do something that got him hurt. I have dealt with being bullied myself. Not a fun thing. However we live in a society now where people are very sue happy.

 
Frankly, I see it a lot differently. It's apparent that little pick has been bullying that other kid for awhile. The kid did right to do something definitive to make it clear he wasn't going to tolerate it again. Unless he did that, that bully would know that there is no repercussion or danger in continuing. I think the kid did exactly what was needed after being punched in the face twice. The kid definitively dealt with him and walked off. He didn't stick around and pound on him.
