Anyone still waiting for this it's now released. It's compatible with the stock Titan X and the SC version. Tried to put the links in but seems they get removed, so just have a look on EVGA's site. On both the EU and US sites they're listed under "Accessories" Just ordered mine and looking forward to getting it fitted :-)

I suggest that TITAN X owners who are debating whether or not they really want a backplate to just go ahead and order one if you don't mind spending the money. EVGA backplates are a limited availability item and once your card is out of production then EVGA probably stops production of the backplates shortly after. If you notice the EVGA backplates currently for sale on this site, there are none for the GTX 680 and the original GTX TITAN and GTX TITAN Black cards, only the later Kepler cards and the current Maxwell. EDITED.

Didn't get auto-notified via email, but I saw this thread and checked and sure enough they're in stock - ordered and I'll have it soon! Why am I so excited over a fancy trim piece?

Installed mine yesterday and it does indeed look much better. Tested it for a little bit and because of my fan placements and one directly blowing on the card angled down( not visible in the picture) Ive seen a max of 1-2 degree drop on load.

Exit your browser. Clear all cache through control panel. Open up with a different browser. Firefox has some issues with EVGA site depending on the day and the weather. Chrome has acted up as well. IE generally works with no issues.

Jeeze, thanks auto-notify. I would have jumped on it instantaneously had I known. Here I am checking 18 hours post availability, and now they're gone... Is auto-notify notoriously bad? This is the first time I've relied (or tried anyway) on it. Guess I'll be checking manually for the next batch of plates.

Just be sure and remember to sign up for auto notify again. It clears the name cache after every round of notifications.

Really liked the looks of the backplates. Not exactly too cheap for two pieces of metal for ~52 EUR shipped, but still nice... :)

Wow that looks good. I didn't think I'd want one because you can't see into my case where it's located, but there's a practical difference? Temperature drop? Looks like it acts like a passive heatsink for the memory. Probably wouldn't hurt with the ebay selling down the road either. Yea, I'm in.

I noticed about 1-2 degree difference so far...could be because of ambient room temp but that usually doesn't change so like to think they did make a small difference.

It's pictures like this that make me think the memory could use a heatsink: And quoting from the Tom's Hardware review: "There’s no question that 102 degrees Celsius is more than what you’d want to see over the long term. Although we understand Nvidia's rationale, for this particular card, a backplate still might have been smart."

My only concern is whether or not the EVGA backplate is really making a difference. It's not too thick, and the spot where the memory is has the holes in the backplate over them, so the thermal pads are just touching air for a decent amount of surface area instead of the plate.

Exactly Nitemare. Glad you saw EVGA ruse of slapping thermal pads on a 980 backplate, crossing out 980 and writing Titan X 9 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmyHup4TpkU ). I mentioned this elsewhere. The chuckleheads that fell for this get the esthetic prize for their silliness. Once again, EVGA, you need to recall these, and make a proper Titan X backplate. And to those claiming 1-2 C, please explain your methodology that allows such a constrained standard deviation. Oh my, born every moment. This world so needs self authored.

I suggest much stronger language when calling them 'stupid'. They obviously read your earlier post warning them about the rip-off and they still want the backplate??? We need more people like you who call it as they see it. Courtesy is for horsies.

Until someone releases a proper active cooling back plate, these are mostly for appearance and, to some degree, protection. EK shelved their active backplate and Koolance (I think it was them) has had one with a heat pipe previously. I think it looks sharp in my rig and I like not having the solder points and such exposed when I am doing any other work in my case. That is why I purchased one.

I grabbed three. :) Now I just need a 3-way v2 Pro bridge. >_>
