Hi, I recently bought a GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING to replace my MSI Radeon RX 580 Armor and with it installed my computer is so slow as to be unusable, as in it can take several minutes for any mouse or keyboard input to be seen and eventually just nothing happens. If I swap my 580 back in with no other changes my computer runs fine This started once the default drivers/software were installed and then got slower and slower over time. I couldn't even get new drivers installed until after it bogged down into complete unusability. Based on the advice of some people I know, I used the DDU tool in safe mode to uninstall all drivers for both AMD and Nvidea and I installed the latest Nvidia drivers, but even once the drivers are installed (is safe mode or not) the same rapid slow down to unusability occurred. CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 MB: X370 Gaming Pro PSU: MSI A850GF OS: Windows 10, latest updates Working GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 Armor New GPU: GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING

Sajin Is your mb bios current?
I have a March 2018 BIOS. I am not exactly comfortable messing around with the BIOS if not necessary.

Can do what I do in the bios to be safe. Take pic of ea page with your phone.
Then after flashing the bios and setting optimized defaults on the next boot.. go back in and make the changes to set everything back the way it was and save.

Also make sure to install evga px1. I bet it needs to flash the new gpu's firmware.

Oh, I am not worried playing around in the BIOS, I am just worried about updating it. If needed I will, but I don't want to unless I need to.

Is Fast Startup off in BIOS ? Every power connection fully seated & locked ? any info in Device Manager with yellow circle ? Run PX1 & update firmware, as mentioned above EVGA Software

Not sure they'll be able to do this unless they have their hard drive formatted GPT so they can turn CSM off. Don't try to update the video card BIOS while Fast boot and/or CSM are enabled.

See if setting the x16 PCIE slot to Gen3 manually helps at all.

True, PCIe 4.0 MB have a known issue that can be fixed - setting PCIe slot to 3.0 & NOT Auto

I know some X370 boards have unofficial gen 4 support despite AMD only wanting gen 4 on b550 and x570 boards, but being that the CPU doesn't have gen 4 lanes I'd assume there wouldn't even be an option for it. That said if there is an option in the bios for gen 4 you'd definitely want to set it to gen 3.
If you don't want to update the bios I'd try a windows reinstall. If you ran DDU and removed the AMD drivers (and Nvidia drivers if you installed the Nvidia drivers on top of the AMD drivers before running DDU) then maybe that's worth a shot.
That said, buddy of mine recently had an issue with a new (to him) MSI z390 build not wanting to boot and when it did boot it would be super sluggish and unstable. First thing I did was update the bios and it fixed everything. Could be as simple as that but I understand not wanting to update the bios but that board does have bios flashback which can save you when it works although admittedly I haven't had a ton of luck with bios flashback and AMD boards.
My associates code is O1RWT3TOQ5NNXP8 if you wanna help !e get my EVGA score up :)
