This is a card for people who like to brag about how much money they spend on things they know nothing about.

Well this clearly isn’t for gaming but for launching a sky-net type of AI from your home...
That 12GB HBM2 memory is awesome. To me this is where AMD fell short with their Vega line.
They should have had 12-16gb cards being they helped invent HBM...

It's only 3000 dollars so I guess I'll have to sell a kidney.

Your kidney might not worth $3K

Price is insane, but this is at least real TITAN with full CUDA.
Pascal was GP102 not GP100. This is Big Volta V100. Same as NVIDIA Tesla V100.

We could talk TITAN V is not for gaming, but use GeForce drivers and he is for gaming as well.
People want to convince self that this card is not for gaming, you will see gameplay video clips...
I decide to delay GPU upgrade, that was smart decision, because I would bought Pascal and after less than month hear for Volta.
For 2-3 months we will see and 700-800$ worth model.

If you buy new Kawasaki Off Road or Dual Purpose at least for 2 years successor will not be twice faster and better as Volta successor.

But, it’s not full cuda... that was already discussed. See below, this has 5120 cores, not 5376... 1/4 of the memory is supposedly disabled as wel, so it definitely isn’t full anything but a fully revamped pricing scheme. This is a quadro, just named a Titan.

Sajin
LOL. That isn't the full chip. 5376 cuda cores is the full chip.

TITAN Z cost 2500 or 3000$?
Very small number of gamers look that model at all because high price.

Titan z was $3k and plenty of idiots paid for it thinking it was some miracle device.. plenty will do that again not knowing that there is no sli and there is no multicard support.

I wonder how well tensor cores would be utilized for mining Bitcoin.

Is this replacing the Quadro or tesla line or this is still under 'GTX'?

Assuming it's gamer friendly, majority of gamers won't or can't touch this, obviously only the few with deep pockets will. lol  You might see some benchmarks but the price screams, no competition for one and two, come and get some of the latest and greatest which means a GTX line won't be seen maybe in the next 3-6 months unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of hat, which I hope they do for the sake of MSRP and availability.

I hope they announce GTX Volta in CES 2018 to get the show on the road.  I don't wanna wait any longer.  Getting old and grumpy. lol

Its not replacing either one.  Its a cheaper version of the tesla line up aimed towards schools and small businesses that don't have a robust in house HPC but can't afford to use or make commercial grade HPC using tesla.  The emphasis is on the tensor core and deep learning abilities as oppose to gaming (as evident by stating it does 110 Tflops via the tensor core, this is not a direct comparison to the 1080ti 11Tflops of computation).  Yes it can be used as a gaming card but that wasn't nvidia's target and gamers should not even look at this as a potential....unless you have $3k to burn (if you do just give it to me so i can get about 5 1080ti's for a couple new rigs =P).

Yep, it's a real titan this time, it has full double precision support just like the original titan, however, it's missing a few cores.

you can probably find 6 titan's for the same price as the titan V to get the the same DP performance equivalent (i'm thinkin 1.3 x 6 to the 7.5 of titan V. But then instead of 1 slot, you're gonna take up 6 slots, so I would say the titan V is a better investment for us to use on milkyway.  I would guess folding performance to be slightly better than 1080ti/titan xP given that it has 15Tflops of single precision vice 12.  If someone ends up making a water cooling block for this then i am gonna save up for one to use on milky way, plus deep learning is something i'm interesting in as well.

But one of these would use a heck of a lot less electric than six 6gb Titans or Titan blacks.

3000$ is 1000$+1000$+1000$.
Worse thing is because you can't sell above 800$ for 18-24 months.

TITAN Z was dual card, that seriously influence on selling, this should sell at least 50% better no matter on price.
Price is huge but I can't say it's fool someone who buy, and I would, but you need to be more than reach to buy this card.
I will be sad if only NVIDIA continue to sell GPU with HBM2.
This card could cost 3000$, could cost 1000$ and in some situation could be offered for 750-800$.
Everything depend from AMD, but poor AMD try to catch GTX1080 with 100W higher power consumption, 12 months later, without success.
And Now NVIDIA could make party with their flagship.
They will sell this card next 2 years, only with different number of CUDA cores.
Now you pay 3000$ and don't care for weaker models.

NVIDIA very easy for 5-6 months or earlier could launch Volta with less CUDA than Pascal, 3200 example, new architecture, small Power consumption and to sell for 800$ easy. We will not see big Volta for gamers below 1000$ and seriously crippled because NVIDIA is in race with Pascal, not with AMD.  Now they will optimize next 18 months how they want.

NVIDIA CEO say Volta is most successfull project ever, and AMD weakness play big role there.
AMD will not reach performance of this Volta before late 2020. I mean performance of V100.
Only one thing is bad, how NVIDIA keep TITAN's for self when manufactuers could give him better finish and details, SC/OC, backplate, waterblock, Hybrid.

Titan V hitting the power limit in 8k superposition, so overclocked 1080ti is just as fast.

But in 1080p extreme Titan V is 50% faster than 1080ti!

Now what we need is a Titan V Kingpin Edition that has all power & voltage limits removed and ships with an external phase-change cooler

Well, in all honesty it's gonna take some time before we get a game that supports 1080 Ti SLI but doesn't work 60fps @ 4k.

Comparison is fair only when your Kingpin runs at the same 250W power limit :)

Edit: It is not known whether he used 100% or 120% power limit for this test.

Because the Star Wars Titan edition card wasn't enough....

Just more proof the Star Wars cards were a shrewd cash grab to dump inventory in preparation of Titan V. Those saying Titan V will be $3000...is Nvidia insane? $3000 is not a consumer price point.

This is not a consumer card, so it shouldn’t be a consumer price point. This card is specifically aimed at deep learning. It is specifically a quadro/Tesla variant of Titan.
