Ah no SLI. Didn't even realize that.

Don't really see many games utilizing mGPU either. So I guess single fastest card will be the way to go. Hoping 1180Ti or 2080Ti has all cores enabled with higher core clocks.

1180Ti or 2080Ti will most likely have the same amount of cuda cores with GDDR6 & SLI.

But will it inherit the Titan X price tag....

We shall see. =)

It's only 3000 dollars so I guess I'll have to sell a kidney.

I got my MS in Applied Math in 1995 from UF... I know plenty of old hard-core compute guys that both game and crank out code.

Only in the past 5 years have I seen math programming (what is now called AI, or deep learning) move out of the defense (and oil and gas) sector. A lot of this stuff is still coded in FORTRAN (horrible stuff).

This stuff is fun, even for us dinosaurs. sometimes it even serves a commercial purpose!

I see absolutely no issues with someone using this for anything outside of gaming.. nothing at all.. but someone that strictly games/streams... waste of money.

I wonder how many crypto miners will give it a try... I wonder how well it will mine...

But you just know someone will dream of this to pair with it: http://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-ultrasharp-32-8k-monitor-up3218k/apd/210-alez/monitors-monitor-accessories

Seems like a lot to spend on gaming - but that would be a moral judgement :-)

Quadro and Tesla cards never performed well in gaming. They costed more and boasted these performance numbers that nvidia loves flashing out to the public... Nvidia said they wanted to move the Titan away form gaming, and now they have. They removed sli, which was a gaming feature, and once again moved the price outside of the reach for normal gamers.. it isn’t a moral judgement, nvidia is literally doing what they can to tell gamers not to buy this, and some of the will be determined.

I wonder what it’s benchmark scores look like. Notice that no one benchmarks quadro and Tesla cards.... I wouldn’t surprise me if Nvidia purposefully destroys the gaming FPS via drivers, because that would be the last thing to show they really didn’t want gamers buying these..

P.S. it still isn’t a fully enabled chip... at $3k, they could have at least provided a fully enabled core count.

Agreed. The marketing is a bit candy-coated. The TESLA card pages tend to be dry with graphs showing calculation performance, not exactly fun-time flashy.

I can see the 20 year old college kid being drawn into this card without any real idea of what it was designed to do.

Depends. If it's power consumption is lower it would be very attractive to miners which have outrageous power bills.

Since games are mostly ports of console games that look much much better I can't see it really being worth it for gaming as for a lot of things right now at least it would be overkill.

And.. AMD takes a death blow from the announcement of Titan V?

Damn....

Insane price, lack of SLI (ITs not a gaming gpu!) BS...

I'll stick with my 2 1080 Ti's,

Good job at not only killing the competition, but obliterating Vega all together with this announcement... AMD was trying so hard to play off there lack of performance... now they have this. Sure.. its like 7x faster then anything they got period.. but the fact nVidia has the beyond fast card atm... enough said.

One can argue price > Performance ratio, but cant argue the performance.

Is this replacing the Quadro or tesla line or this is still under 'GTX'?

Assuming it's gamer friendly, majority of gamers won't or can't touch this, obviously only the few with deep pockets will. lol  You might see some benchmarks but the price screams, no competition for one and two, come and get some of the latest and greatest which means a GTX line won't be seen maybe in the next 3-6 months unless AMD pulls a rabbit out of hat, which I hope they do for the sake of MSRP and availability.

I hope they announce GTX Volta in CES 2018 to get the show on the road.  I don't wanna wait any longer.  Getting old and grumpy. lol

Nope.
Not for me.
Must not upgrade my RIG in the next five years, but Nvidia doesn't make it easy.

If anybody is thinking in buying the 10 series GPU's, I would for sure hold more months, since Volta is closer than we think.

Whelp, you can buy it right mean... it isn’t $3k though... it’s $2999 with free shipping.... because nvidia is clearly losing their mind and moving the Titan name to where the Tesla name use to exist.

Hell, maybe they had a really good reason for moving the name, but I still consider them to be making a very stupid move at this time. At least we won’t see gamers boasting about their Titan Volta since nvidia made this same move with the Titan Z and charged $3k for it... oh wait... people actually did buy those for gaming and will buy these for gaming...

Tempting. Too bad it doesn't have sli support. Only NV Link.

Seriously??? I was just Gona say I'll take 2!! :/

Will be around +30% faster in games than 1080 Ti. You can get 4x 1080 Ti with the price of one.

Such price skimming & product versioning increases Nvidia's profit somewhat, but also affects the brand image.

LOL. That isn't the full chip. 5376 cuda cores is the full chip.

That one will come out in the first quarter of next year at half the price of the Titan V.

I see absolutely no issues with someone using this for anything outside of gaming.. nothing at all.. but someone that strictly games/streams... waste of money.

I wonder how many crypto miners will give it a try... I wonder how well it will mine...

At $3,000 it would have to equal 4 GTX 1080 Ti for to be worth it in mining.

They will be looking at the ROI. Most miners look for a 90 day ROI and if the Titan V can't beat the ROI of 4 GTX 1080 Ti, they probably will not go for it unless it has a very nice long term production. $3,000 is going to be a hard swallow for 1 part.

I think I might wait this one out.

I think that's a great idea.

Btw, nice rig. Do you get condensation with that setup or you're just above those levels?

Thanks, As long as I stay above the dew point no problems. The dew point here today is 2c but I have to keep the CPU above 10c because of the LM it's delided. I usually stay above 6c water temperature for benching.

That's just mind blowing if I may.  Amazing setup you got there.

Too rich for my blood!  I will wait and see what the next Gen TI looks like...makes you wonder if Nvidia is going to raise prices on all models accordingly.  1080 TI was about 2/3 the price of same gen Titan.  ($1200 to $750).  Then the 1080 series upwards to $600.  With the Titan being $3000...what are the rest of the prices going to look like?

MSI MAG X670-E Tomahawk;  Ryzen 7 7800X3D; Asus TUF RTX 4070 TI OC; Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 PSU; 32 GB  Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 RGB; Corsair iCue Link H150i RGB 360MM AIO; 2-Western Digital Black 4 TB SN850X NVMe; Creative SoundBlaster Z;  Lian Li Lancool III; EVGA Z15 Keyboard; Razer Viper 8K Mouse
