No BIOS updates are coming.. they don't have motherboard division anymore. They promised it.. and they lied to us.

We pretty much expected that a few weeks after refresh release and still no update. EVGA is dead. At this point I'm sure if people start posting porn on this site, no one will give a damn.

I like GamersNexus, and I think they are less shills than most, but I think even they won't touch this topic. I have made past requests to GamersNexus about issues with indisputable proof, I know others did the same around the same time, but none of us got anything.  I think even GamersNexus used to care too much about the health of their relationship, and now have no interest in tarnishing the tiny bit that remains.
It's kind of weird some times when GamersNexus rips on one brand over and over about some thing which pretty much only affected GamersNexus or their (GamersNexus) relationship with that brand, but then totally ignores a pretty big problem affecting many consumers of a different brand.  They are blind sometimes.  I assumed that they just don't realize it, but sometimes I wonder if it is on purpose.

Here, let me come out and say it, What I said previous in this thread came directly from sources at EVGA. There are no other bios being made.

I have other comments, but they're not worth talking about.

^ Exactly. It’s pretty much a dead topic. RIP EVGA. I’m still surprised the forums are even on. They probably have the server space prepaid for a while.

My bank is processing the charge back. I am even offering EVGA that I will pay for shipping the board to send it to their HQ. I do not want this anymore and my 2 out of 3 of my bios chips are even defective/ PC refuses to boot. This is terrible.... First board had issues with the PCIE lanes not working in full bandwidth and now this.. I am done with EVGA begging them in the forums. Sent my bank all the evidence they need.

Ok. Good luck. Banks rarely if ever process a charge back beyond 120 days after purchase, and require you to try to get a refund from the seller first. Not sure when you got your board though, but that's why I asked about the ticket. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Try battlefield 2042 both of you. A really demanding CPU game with latencyMON running or call of duty. FPS unlocked

dont have any issues in BF2042 too

Upload a photo of it after 30 minutes of playing?

To be fair yes I am on an core i9 14900K / RTX 3090, and you are on a 14600k core i5/ AMD GPU maybe, so really different here.

Question, is your CPU power state in windows set to high performance? Also what is your C state setting in bios? I notice this also with an AMD GPU, testing my brother's 6600XT

Disable C state in bios and always use High Performance / Ultimate Performance.

Download UnparkCPU and check if any cores are parked, read and follow directions if cores are parked.
https://coderbag.com/programming-c/disable-cpu-core-parking-utility

Re-test LatencyMon without any programs running at desktop and test while in game, take screen shots of both instances and upload so we can see what is potentially causing the issue.

I was experiencing micro shuttering in game and having latency issues, what was the cause? My cores we're parked. Easy fix but you may be having other problems so post screen shots.

sell your classified/kingpin z790 boards or keep them as a collectable and get yourself a modern board for 14th gen that is quality and is not going anywhere. Cannot believe this is still going on, Andrew Hoodwinked all evga customers on these motherboards with his childish/abysmal decision. Said this was coming and have also noticed EVGA is now pulling images off their servers. At the rate of things I do not see them being around much longer, these new Janky manufactured PSU's won't sustain the company in the slightest, people came for the gpu's and kingpin products to products improved by Kingpin. Now people are going elsewhere and those of us who know what company's Andrew is having these psu's made at know better than to touch them.

I can understand the hassle and time consuming process of swapping out the motherboard in a water cooled system, but its absurd to think we will get a BIOS update at this point. EVGA IS DEAD. I mean, it's barely a secret.

I know that evga did not update the bios to support 14th gen but I've seen some people mention they were able to.
Does putting a 14th gen cpu into the motherboard work as it's supposed to work or does it just not work at all or are some of the features limited?
I want to sell my board but afraid if selling the board to someone looking to run a 14th gen cpu it wont work for them.

I don't know of any beta BIOS for this. One user made their own BIOS version that somewhat helped with a couple features (a couple people were trying it), and you can find threads for that (I think on the z690 section). The functionality was not 100% with those (or any).

As for what works, the 14900k and possibly 14600k (not the 14700k I believe) do boot in the latest BIOS versions, but not all features work properly (V/F curves are wrong for example). It isn't the latest micro-code, the frequency boost tables might be incorrect (but should work if entered manually like a per-core OC), ME version isn't right and won't work properly, etc. Basically, some systems will boot, but they won't be functioning properly. Kingpin did some testing and a few others and they can overclock and run benchmarks, but it may not be fully stable for a 24/7 system and it requires manual tuning of everything.

Not one person I have seen mentioned that. I would take EVGA to court really for this flaw, they also have DPC latency issues with 12th and 13th gen CPUs and disabling C state is really a fix, but a workaround

Damn ok thanks.
I guess I'll have to mention when selling the board that it does not officially work with 14th gen which sucks cause less people would want to buy it now for an even cheaper price.

No one predicted EVGA would screw its loyal fan base like this. It is what it is. Those who have been around a while will remember the old EVGA for what it was. Kinda like remembering a loving parent before they went senile.

Talk to your banks everyone, just give them overwhelming evidence and show them the DPC issues and the lack of bios support. I got my charge back, sending the board to EVGA soon

Thanks. I bought my board on Amazon. I am reaching out to Amazon and my Prime card for support to see if I can return it or also do a chargeback against EVGA. EVGA is no longer supporting this product, even though the socket is still being supported and updated by Intel. They are still releasing CPUs, BIOS updates, microcodes, and security patches, but EVGA is providing nothing. They are essentially not holding up their end of the bargain for selling Z690 and Z790 boards. These security flaws leave your system vulnerable and at security risks, no matter now how little risk you perceive that as.

The worst part is that EVGA claimed a BIOS update was coming prior to cutting off all communication on the matter. I am shocked no lawsuits have been filed yet TBH.

Because that’s stealing and I’m not going to do that to EVGA, I’m sending it back to them with a charge back done on my debit card

That is actually a very good point tbh.
I might just do the same as I Rma'd my board and they sent me the most beat up motherboard as a replacement, not even sure how that passed their QC.
