Hey all, I just got my new GTX 970 ACX2.0+ gpu, and I noticed that there is this strange substance all over the pcb, it almost looks like glue or something. I will link some pictures in this thread and I just want to know if this is normal or if I should consider RMA before installing it. I have not tried using the card yet as if need be I can use my old gpu for the time being. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's just the normal conformal coating on the PCB. It's almost never entirely even.

This is normal? Sweet, I haven't seen it before but then again all my other gpus usually have had a backplate of some sort. Glad I don't have to RMA it, thanks for the info!

I even zoomed in on a 4K 50" screen. You get that sometimes around the larger solder points....Back plates sometimes get an oily residue from the thermal tape. Looks funky but it's harmless too.
