Got my email that my step up had been registered on my account and when I went to look saw this message.
As of 6/24/2021, the EVGA Advanced RMA program has been discontinued, and these plans are no longer available for purchase. Customers who have previously purchased an EVGA Advanced RMA will remain able to use this RMA option for the duration of their warranty.

That's a bummer seeing as just shipping a card back to EVGA runs $30+ dollars for ground, and the fact now you are out of a card while you wait for your broken one to get there and them to ship it back.

Like their "lifetime" warranty before it, it was probably shut down because people were abusing it. People were probably buying advanced RMAs on their cards as a way to get another at MSRP then scalp the cards while never sending back their original card. Some people are scumbags and unfortunately they end up ruining good things for everyone else.

Wow, never even thought of something like that happening. I have yet to purchase the Advanced RMA nor an extended warranty. I've only had one EVGA card ever fail on me and that was a GTX 480 Hydro Copper.

There were people openly asking questions "what happens if I don't return my RMA" in the warranty section here just a few months ago. Some people just don't care and only see $$$. In a GPU shortage they don't care if their account here gets banned or they end up having to pay the collateral (which was MSRP of whatever card they were attempting to advance RMA) plus shipping. Cards are selling for 2-3x MSRP on auction sites. Unfortunately scumbags like that and up ruining a good feature for honest buyers who just want the protection of not having to go days or weeks without a card while they await a replacement.

Damn.  This has always been one of the reasons I buy EVGA products - being able to count on good customer service and knowing that if my card isn't functioning properly but isn't completely broken (which happened to my 3080 - one of the fans wasn't working, but I could still use the card), I could do an advance RMA so I wouldn't be without a card for weeks.  Advanced RMA is one of the things that set EVGA above other companies.  It sucks that people have abused it to the point where now they're not doing it anymore.

Major bummer.  If people were abusing it, I can understand where EVGA is coming from, but I'm still disappointed in their decision to discontinue this service.

I believe some are confusing the promotional EAR and Cross Ship RMA. We have not done away with Cross Ships - only the EAR program due to rampant abuse of the program and fraud. No plans to reinstate it at this time.

That's good to hear.  I bought my five-year warranty with the understanding that I wouldn't necessarily have to go weeks without a card if something in it was messed up.  Thanks for clarifying, Daniel.

I thought cross shipment was tied to EAR - is that still an option for regular RMAs?  Disappointing to hear that EAR got abused - glad I signed up for it before it went away, planning to keep my current card for a good while.

EAR and Cross Ship were identical only difference is it would not require the full MSRP collateral up front and was a paid service. We tried to be vigilant in verifying information but unfortunately some ruined it for all honest customers.

Annndddd.... yet again, it only takes a few scumbags to ruin a good thing for everyone. Although, if it was being abused that badly im glad they stopped the program rather than let the scum run the whole company into the ground. We have very few good companys to start with and even fewer good tech companys, we dont need to lose one of the good ones.

I put in a "submit question" for it earlier today if that is how it is supposed to be done? I find the process a bit confusing... Though the last card that I have RMA'd was a step-up from an 8800gt heh

You should just change the policy to double or triple the cost of the item. Getting rid of it altogether would just alienate any legitimate RMA claim owner. I've never needed to do an RMA but as an owner of a EVGA 980 Ti, 3080, and a 3080 Ti this concerns me. If my video card is dead, having a dead PC would be unbearable. I wouldn't care what you would charge me to do the advance RMA as I know it would be returned to me. Most owners would understand the situation and accept this I would imagine.

Except that you can still do this with a Standard Cross-shipping option.  If you were eligible to purchase an EAR on a product, then you will be eligible to submit an RMA with a Standard Cross-ship.  As Daniel noted above, the difference is that collateral must be paid upfront.  Otherwise, the process is the same.

Ya you guys should charge 3x the price if they keep the card so it won’t affect the honest costumer.

EU/Asia regions are not affected as Advanced RMA in those regions are considered Cross Ships in the US so while a bit confusing nothing has changed for those regions.

This is simply a website issue. Go ahead and submit a support ticket and we can open a payment portal on your account and add the extended warranty on the backend.

Really bummed out that my 3080ti ftw3 ultra needs rma as its running at max 93c anytime i put a load on it and yet when I call after doing these advance rma's in the past without issue I'm told it ended 4 days ago...the day after I got my card from you. If I had just been faster and registered it BEFORE installing troubleshooting and discovering the problem I would have been able to get it.

Man my luck is just the worst....now I have "spend" $2800+ on top of the $1400+ I spent for the card just to get a properly working card in my system within a week vs what likely would be a month of cross shipment across the whole country.

I don't have it and always relied on advance rma with you guys in the past for my issues and was always diligent about sending back the rma.

I get why....but it still really screws me over.
