Most of us are fortunate enough not to need a monster power supply in our PCs, but for those that do, SilverStone has launched an updated version of its 2050 Watt HELA 2050 power supply, simply named the HELA 2050R. It delivers no less than 170 Ampere on its 12 V rail and SilverStone claims a power density of 882 Watts per liter. The updated version comes with a pair of 12VHPWR connectors, with one modular cable with two GPU connectors and one modular cable with a single GPU connector.

The HELA 2050R is rather amazingly only 180 mm deep and in addition to the 12VHPWR connector it also has three standard 6+2 GPU connector with support for up to 14 GPU connectors, as well as support for up to 12 SATA drives, three Molex connectors, one floppy drive type connector and of course, the standard ATX and EPS power connectors. Note that the HELA 2050R is limited to 200-240 Volt input, as a standard 115 Volt outlet would be limited to 1650 Watt. No pricing was announced, but considering that the HELA 2050 is retailing for well over US$500, it's not expected that the 2050R will be any cheaper.

Before buying this monster make sure your home electrics can support it.

Was about to comment that point. Hitting near max load on that PSU will likely trip standard household fuses, at least in US.

You would need a 240 volt circuit/outlet to plug it into since it cannot do 120 volt input.........

This is pretty funny. I always thought the day would come where I'd need to get an electrician to install a split for my dryer's 240v outlet for a PC since the dryer is right on the other side of my office's wall. Nvidia 5090 1000w here we come!

It doesn't need to be connected to 2xx volt.  It can do 120 volt input.

It is rated for 90 to 264 volts.  It is rated at 3 different output powers over 4 input voltage ranges.
It's rated at 1650 watts when using a standard US plug.

    Rating:

    90 to 103v : 1350 watts
    103 to 200v : 1650 watts
    200 to 240v : 2050 watts
    240 to 264v : 1650 watts

To save manufacturing costs power supplies have been adapted for worldwide voltage use for many years now.

Fair enough guys but why in hell would you buy a 2050 watt power supply only to be able to use 1650 watts of it?

Might as well just get a 1600 watt power supply then and save a few bucks.

To prepare for the future I’d imagine. It will be compatible today with your existing wiring until you upgrade.

With a 2050 watt power supply that can only output 1650 watts? Not sure what the advantage would be in that scenario.......

    OK i guess........
Personally I would upgrade the electrical circuit first. The power supply will be around to buy for quite some time.

LOL, but even Tim Taylor was able to use the extra power he modified into his tools or whatever. That's what always got him into trouble and out of control.
Again, if the power supply puts out 2050 watts but you can only use 1650 watts of it what's the point.

    Input Voltage -  200~240 Vrms = 2050W

    12V rail rated @ 170 A

If you don't need this kind of supply, then its just a footnote
