So, I just ordered a 1080ti sc2 this morning, only a few hours later the ftw3 Elite goes on sale for only $30 more. It was too late to cancel and order that.

Is the ftw3 that much better that I should be worried about? Let me know your thoughts thanks guys, haha this is driving me crazy!!

No. Ftw3 is bigger and heavier and will sag over time. You just gain one extra fan to move air really. The pcb is over engineered. The sc2 is way more than enough for the average user. Ftw3 is overkill

Those were my exact thoughts, I figured it would sag. I was more concerned with temps. I’ve read sc2 users claim 80+ whereas the ftw seems to sit around 58-64. I guess I could swap paste on the sc2 to achieve those numbers.

I was mostly disturbed that it went on sale and offered free shipping, which put it only $10 more than the sc2.

I wouldn’t really worry about it personally since there is pros and cons of both. I would t worry since you got a killer card anyway you look at it.

Yeah, I’m trying my anixiety has me bothered LOL. Yeah I am happy though, I think I actually prefer the aesthetics of the two fan. Looks like it’ll look better than my previous cards that extend over the mobo and have sag.

I also have a feeling I’ll be doing the trade up program within 90 days, if the rumors are right for the 1100 series cards.

Will a hybrid kit work for the sc2? I thought about it. My previous card was a 980 ti hybrid

Yes it should. Click on compatibility and look for model #. Insaw several sc2 on there.

I dont know about other parts of the world or where you live, but in the EU we have a "cooling off period" where we can cancel an online order 14 days after purchase. I don't why you can't do that.

Works great and I agree with the temps in the 30s after hours of gamming.

Besides the PCB (power), number of BIOS, Cooler & physical appearance, the only difference is the Very small difference in factory guaranteed OC

I wouldnt loose any sleep over it. SC2 is a great card. So is FTW3. Only main differences are FTW3 has 3 more VRM phases, 30 more Watts max power, and one more cooling fan. So with 3 more VRMs on the FTW3 and potential to push up to 30W more power for OC ... this would generatee more heat—and thus the need for one more fan.

You can always contact EVGA customer service to ask about swapping? Especially if you havent opened the SC2 yet.

PS Hybrid is awesome for cooling, quiet, and OC’ing GPU. With FTW3 Hybrid ... I basically have no power limit or thermal limit. OC’ing is just a matter of voltage limit and silicon lottery for stability of the GPU and GDDR.
