Shipping delays/can't step up?

My two EVGA 980's were ordered and paid for on the 8th of January.They were out of stock and bought one from B&H and one from New Egg and it took some time before delivery.Also I kept waiting...and waiting for the EVGA Pro Sli bridges to come back in stock for my build.I started my build around the 21st and registered cards when received, but according to "step up" rules I only have a 14 day window from the time of purchase?.Am I being penalized for out of stock delivery delays or am I missing something?I am not complaining,just need to fully understand the 14 day registration period.Thank you.EDIT:just saw another thread concerning 14 day window...my bad.Will leave up or admin can delete.2nd EDIT: I am not gonna sweat it...it says I cannot step up on my products page so...no classys.Will stick with my x2 SC 980's.

    that could be a pain if the 14 day rule doesn't take such delays into account.
    on the other side having bought the 980 SC's there is no card you can step-up to anyway.
    the highest step-up model is the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 ACX 2.0 which is lower model than yours.

    I am just a "moderate" overclocker,but was thinking of having a couple cards I could push(classy).Also thinking of my 1st water cooling project and thought the two would go together.Hate to repeat but I fall into the "novice" catagory,but I am bored with tinkering and looped coolers,have learned alot from some of you here and was...well...thinking of spreading my wings.lol thx for reply,will stick with the cards I have.

    Classy's are not a "normal " set up option.
     
    EVGA maintains a list of current graphics cards as well as motherboards available to Step-Up to. Products listed are mostly stock (not factory overclocked, or water cooled) due to stock limitations.

    Products can be removed from or added to Step-Up availability at any time.
     
    And when you  start a step up you get:
     
    Step Up Card Requested:
    Only Reference designs are available when selecting your products, higher clocked cards are not part of the step up program as per the terms and conditions.

    Thanks for taking the time to post links,cannot step up anyway and most likely it's a good thing.I was ignorant to the fact of what you can actually step up to,I assumed spending more money = step up...ignorance on my part.I still am looking into a full blown water cooling project,but that's another story.
