Disaster! one of the pumps has literally popped out of the top on my SR2!! Seems Koolance struggle to machine two threads that match, the pump shroud wiggles in the threads and just lets go!

Thanks to ninja reactions and the 3 cups of coffee earlier i whipped out the power before it flooded everything, thank christ i put the pumps in the rad bay underneath or this could of got expensive.

identical issue.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?252376-Koolance-D5-top-issue

Koolance is now on my poop list.

Cant even RMA them as i have painted the mounts and shroud, thankfully Specialtech just offered to sponsor me 2 of the new rev 2 model.

This is why ST are the only guys to go with for watercooling gear.

Not the best morning,i was looking forward to some 1440p BF3.........

SpecialTech to the rescue!!

You can clearly see the difference in the pump mounting compared to the rev 1.

The new top just bolts in the traditional manner rather than the screw in shroud method.

The tops are different dimensions tho so im going to have to ditch the copper between the pump and res and go with a bit of black tube instead....otherwise it means re doing the res mount and generally more trouble than its worth.

Thanks again to Specialtech, who came thru for me in a very tight situation.

A bit more work done on the front panel...im debating as to putting another LED strip in the top so the light fades down also..

What is wrong with this picture?

Yup,seems channel 2 had turned it toes up...no RMA for me as i have had to mod the faceplate to get it sitting flush with the front panel.

Now,here is my dilemma,do i get another one of these and use the existing panel or go for something else and remake the panel?
I would like to put a FC 10 in there but they are as rare as rocking horse poop and, seeing as i just finished my contract at work,a little bit too much money for what it is.....
So,opinions are welcome....

Yeah,i knew i put the pumps down there out of the way for a reason...didnt actually expect it to happen tho.
Hopefully Lamptron will want to help, that seems a bit of a chance seeing as there is a lot of rumours about receivership going round....

I look but no rigs option in you account.
I will remember everybody with SR-2 Classified and SR-X Classified have + from me.
That is world highest class.

Incorrect,  Supermicro is world's highest class motherboard wise, nothing touches Supermicro
Especially when it comes to reliability, lifespan, redundancy and stability in any type of workload.

As OC boards go ASUS would do best here, they have a nice 2CPU Xeon E5 class motherboard also, which fits the E-ATX standards and has plenty OC options.

But sorry, I don't agree that EVGA being world class mobo's I have had two high-end 1CPU EVGA Motherboards and they both gave me nightmares ...

EVGA X58 3x SLI due to bad sound chip, it had to be disabled to make it run stable  and the EVGA X79 FTW, it didn't like my i7 3820, even I was able to flash the bios with it and such.

The i7 3820 worked fine in an ASUS x79 based mobo from a mate of mine without any issues.
But I am selling the i7 gear, just too underpowered for my needs, thus I am going Dual G34.

So no more EVGA mobo's for me, only Supermicro & ASUS, I prefer EVGA to do the VGA cards, they are an absolute WIN in doing that.

I don't care for Supermicro best is SR-X Classified with two Xeons same like SR-2. SR-2 is famous board for highest enthusiasm level. If someone want 5 years build and forget on everything he go on HTPX Classified. That is form factor in world famous because EVGA boards.

Our is always nicer, always every range...Look look...this like they hold two years on sun, this connectors are almost yellow.

I get a bit of time to put into my rig for a change!

I have received the XL window form Little Devil and what a difference it makes!

Like most things,it all about the extra few inches...

Rebated window...I like this very much.

Compared to the old...

And a nice little bent Alu trim piece with a DiNoc covering

Now I am just waiting for a replacement controller so i can bolt it all back together for some hot pr0n shots in the garden....

Thanks to Little Devil for the XL window,I cant recommend them enough...these cases are great !!

Right,im really am quite angry,i got a SECOND fc6 to replace this one that failed, this one decides to catch FIRE instead!! Now this unacceptable! I cant RMA due to the faceplate but this is my SECOND controller,im getting this independently verified as to whether this is capable of handling 20w,if not then they can expect a letter from my legal rep soon.

Terrible products....

Would you be able to remove one of the heatsinks to find out the model number on those FETs? My curiosity leads me to the specsheet for more information on your question.

No part number then?

The other curious part is the wire-burning. Was that a fan cable? Or was that the controller supply line? What kind of loads did you have and what gauge of wiring were you using?

Pardon my asking, very nice build as well.

It was the cable running down to the splitter,Phobya pre sleeved with a phobya splitter.
Its all pre made stuff as i cant stand sleeving fans

The controller had just been hooked up as the previous FC6 had dropped a channel after 3 months. This was the replacement.
