Had to reset the time.  Maybe my battery is going on the motherboard?

Off Topic but if you replace the battery do you have to reload bios and other firmware?

Yes, BIOS settings ---> are held by the battery

You can take out/replace the CMOS battery and the BIOS settings should remain as long as the board has standby power..As long as you don't turn off/unplug the PSU when taking out/replacing the CMOS battery, the BIOS settings should remain.
 
If you do turn off/unplug the PSU when taking out/replacing the CMOS battery, all the BIOS settings will be reset to the original default settings and all custom changes you may have made will be lost and you'd need to do them over again.
