Hello,

My GPU is the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING, 06G-P4-6163-KR, 6GB GDDR5, ACX 2.0 (Single Fan).

I have a couple of questions, and sorry but I have not Googled or YouTube-d this matter, yet. I ask here for the first time.

So,

1) Is it possible to remove the fan to clean it and IF so, how can I do this? I mean, which screws do I have to unscrew to remove just the fan?

2) Which screws do I have to remove when I will wish to replace the TIM? (I’m not thinking of doing this just yet, it would be good to know, though).

Note: IF it is not too much for you, guys, please post a photo of my GPU and put in a circle, or something, the screws I have to unscrew. If, on the other hand, there's a video available somewhere, for my GPU, please give me the link.

Thank you!!

The four spring loaded black screws around the GPU as shown here to remove the heatsink/fan assembly from the PCB first..Couple screws or so to remove the shroud/fan from the heatsink after that.

Thank you for your fast response!

A couple of questions, please, since I will be doing this, first time ever, at some point next week:

    1) From what I understand there is no way to remove just the fan, without "touching" anything else, on this specific GPU?

    2) When I will remove those four screws will the heatsink come out, completely?! This means (to me) that each time I would wish to clean the fan, and just the fan, I will have to remove the entire heatsink and thus...re-apply the TIM! Really, is this true?! Or, am I not getting it right? I will be replacing the TIM once a year or even later, BUT I will be cleaning my GPU on a regular basis, like every 7 - 10 days, together with the rest of my computer components! So...I will have to re-apply the TIM each time!? (I surely hope not so!)

    3) Does any of these void the Warranty?

    4) Do I need to purchase any type of thermal pads for this specific GPU?

    Thank you!

PS: On my initial post I wanted to post a link to my GPU. I was not able to hyperlink or post a simple link (to the EVGA store), even... Do I need a certain number of posts to be able to post links?

Almost certain you need to remove the heatsink to take the shroud/fan off of the heatsink on that card because there's a few screws underneath..After removing the four screws around the GPU chip the heatsink/fan assembly will come off in one piece..Anytime you remove the heatsink it will need new TIM..Thermal pads, if any, can be re-used..Taking it apart won't void the warranty unless you damage/scratch the card somehow.

Canned air you can buy anywhere for cleaning computers along with a small soft-bristle paint brush is good for cleaning it without taking it apart.

You need more than 10 posts to put links..But you can get around that by putting spaces in the link like
    ht tps://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-6163-KR should probably work.

    Oh no...Really?
So, the shroud, for example, cannot be removed exclusively, but it takes the entire heatsink + fan with it? Is this certain?

Well... I suppose I will be using my vacuum cleaner to blow the dust out of the card and once a year or so, when I will be replacing the TIM, I will be cleaning it thoroughly. The fan almost never spins, anyway, so I'm not expecting much dust to accumulate in there.

Could you please link me to some good thermal pads so that I will know what to purchase? IF there aren't any there, from the factory, I suppose it will be OK if I will add my own, right?

    Thank you.

PS_1: I also do not have any idea where exactly those thermal pads ought to be placed, but I'll seek some video to watch.
PS_2: my GPU temp is ~ 30C with zero fan speed and max ~60C under SuperPosition, oveclocked. So, I am asking all these questions just out of curiosity + ways of improvement. It is not that I am facing some issue with my card.
