I seem to have one of my 2080ti kingpins stuck at the 300mhz even under load in sli.

Probably tried already: but have you tried them separately not in sli config? If yes and you don't find a fix for it and have to RMA, going to hope it goes fast and you get a proper one. Also going to hope when they finally become available in EU and I grab one, that I won't have to deal with this.

ty_ger07 For anyone curious, the same problem was reported here for another user with Kingpins in SLI: https://forums.evga.com/2...w-issues-m2943994.aspx
So I was not imagining it lol, I have seen it before just wasn't able to find it for some reason. Thanks for posting it here.

Yeah i was in the other thread as well just decided to start one with a different title to pinpoint the sli issue better. Now that being said i took the card that was stuck at 300mhz and moved it to the top slot and removed the other card, now its not stuck at 300mhz and works like it should. I'm going to take the other card now and move it to the bottom in sli and see if that card then does the same thing. If so it will pinpoint the problem to Kingpins in SLI or a different hardware problem.

OK, the cards were now reversed and the same issue is there so now i know both cards are good and work properly as individuals but as a pair in sli the card i have in the bottom slot will stay stuck at the 300mhz setting for some reason.

What mb to help compare the issue.. both cards work in top slot normally.. then its either the mb or drivers.

Mine is Asus Rampage VI Extreme Omega. Yes it seems like a motherboard or drivers issue or maybe nvlink issue but i am curious to see if anyone has yet confirmed they are using 2 of the 2080ti kingpins in SLI without issues.

Not all games support sli. What benchmarks are you talking about? Do you have sli enabled inside the nvidia control panel?

Usually sli is enabled by default.
You guys atleast installed the drivers with both cards installed right? I used to add a card later and that would cause all kinds of problems.
If so do the DDU nvidia uninstall in safe mode and install the newest drivers.

+1.... I have 2 1080 Ti in SLI and 90% of the time, the bottom card is sitting unused.... A very expensive ornament, yours are even more so.

You didn't read everything, it does this in all benchmarking, all games, and gpuz shows it as well. At the same time it shows 300mhz it shows over 800 watts power.

So since it seems some people havent seen my other thread I'll post some info here about my issue.
I received my 2nd Card on Friday the 12th and installed it as the bottom card in my system. (6800k, x99 evga classified, 16 GB ram, 750w psu for cpu and 1200w psu for vga.) Yes I know to turn on the VGA psu first.
I started up the system and noticed that the bottom card was running at 300mhz and that PX1 reported 1600w power draw. When running superposition benchmark the card did not boost above 300mhz.I thought this was odd so I used DDU to boot into safe mode uninstall drivers then reinstalled clean drivers. The problem persisted. (Yes SLI was enabled) I then removed both cards and tested them each individually. The card that was on top performed as normal and the bottom card remained in the same power state. I ran Superposition, and the cycled through some games in my library. I then opened up the other thread and contacted EVGA technical support who told me to RMA the card.
I have since move over to a system with a 7700k 1600w psu Asus Maximus Code, 32gbs ram and tested each card individually again - I would love these cards to work- and it's the same problem. I have not modified the card in any way through software or hardware. I actually tried to flash the OC bios from the good card over to the bad one like DWExpress did and NVflash couldn't find the card. "No nvidia adapter found" I reinstalled PX1 checked gpu-z and all of that. The card "thinks" is drawing ~850 watts and has locked itself at 300mhz. I know it's not actually pulling this much power because it's as a blistering 27°c while doing it. I'm now wondering if I should even put the new card in my system when I finally get it.
Long post but I hope this covers most people's questions about my specific problem, and I hope this can help EVGA identify the issue. Still waiting on my new card to ship out so I can try SLI out.

So you have now changed motherboard, cpu, ram and power supply and still have the same issue. Thats a bummer. I'm about to buy a couple of cheaper cards to throw in and SLI just to see if its a motherboard problem or not. If a different set of cards will SLI properly on the same board its going to about have to be a kingpin 2080ti sli issue.

Yeah... It sucks, but also the price for early adoption. I'm just glad its EVGA, I know they'll have my back if there is an issue with a card. Just hope I dont have to wait until the end of April for my replacement.

yes i got into the 2080ti FTW3 red led's issue that was caused by a firmware update in px1 when they were released but as you say EVGA support is top notch in my book.

personally I ran 3d Mark, superposition ( non sli I know) and then through tombraider 2&3 shadow of war, heaven and some rainbow six siege. 3d mark was ultra extreme, timespy/ extreme. Not a huge amount but the card also just doesnt work by itself now, so I know it isnt just an sli issue.

I would say as a way to save yourself some time when testing dual cards, do not remove the bottom card and move it to the top slot unless you just want to. Just remove the DisplayPort/hdmi cable from the top card and plug it into the bottom card. See if the top card becomes locked at 300mhz.
If you are running more than 1 display, you can keep the cards installed and one display connected to each card, then set the top card to primary, or the bottom card to primary display. This will save a lot of time for testing and a lot of work.
*Be aware, with SLI, the second display may become disabled in favor of sli.*

Already tried that, the monitor would not even come on trying that way, seems a lot of the motherboards will not boot on a video card unless its in the top pcie 16 slot
