Hello everyone
I just received my card yesterday and I did some stress testing and some other testing
I found out that my card has some thermal issues on the ram bank on the top of the core and the ones near the VRM on stuck I was getting around 90c+ fan on auto and fan on max fan I get 88c while 4k gaming and on stress testing once the memory reaches that temp I get artifacts on MSI Kombustor v4 x64
my room temperature is 73 f and my computer case is open..
and I keep failing GPUPI 3.3.2 I am passing that with my second rig gtx 970 and I think its the vram... anyone else tested this?

Any  testing on my 2080ti ftw3 the vram stays about 60C max, thats on air at +700 memory and +120 clock. This seems to be about the best i can get on air right now.

That is about the best VRM temps I have seen on air.
Two of mine are getting around 80c. One is around 48-50c.

I am overclocked on the memory 900 atm  and 150 on the core.  I only get artifacts if i go above that.  PX1 is working very well for me.  i'll go check memory temps now.

btw, fan curve is default one in PX1.  its close to 1:1 temp/fanspeed

The high temp alone didn't cause the failure/artifacts. https://www.youtube.com/w...ure=youtu.be&t=405

    thank you
    the link is

    delete the space after www.
If you also fail then it could be the software needs to be updated to support the new rtx series.. I just want to make sure it's not faulty hardware..

It needs a update, It crashes with my 2080 TI FTW3 just like the screenshot you posted. Running it with the Titan X Pascal also in my system it runs all the way thru fine.

i thought it needed update but i was not sure thank you for confirming that.
i did submit an advance RMA though because of the high memory temperature i was hitting 93c on the memory bank above the GPU after 1 hour of load with 3 artifacts in overclock scanner, and i think the max operating temperature for gddr6 is 95c so it was close to tjmax.i think that memory bank is not making a good contact with the heat sink but i can't confirm that because i didn't take it apart..
thank you for your help and enjoy your awesome card :)

Jealous of the cards in his thread, pretty sure I lost the silicon lottery.  Seems like my FTW3 has almost no headroom.  OC Scanner recommends +104Mhz, but Fire strike crashes within the first 10 seconds at anything over +40Mhz.  (+124% power limit).  I've never seen my core go above 69C, memory never above 80C

    850/+145

    GPU 65C
    Max temp on M2 81C

Fans curves manual setting, usually at this temps 75%.

Maybe we need an updated version to support the new RTX Cards
I am saying this because their is a Known Issue with with OpenCL on the RTX Platform.

After months of hard work we proudly announce the official release of GPUPI 3. The third generation of our Compute Benchmark is now finally feature complete. Version 3 brings integrated hardware detection via HWiNFO, a new Mixed Multi-GPU Mode to unite different GPUs like AMD and NVIDIA, a brand new Command Line Mode, a new logo and a major speedup for all devices and platforms!

    Optimizations of the Pi Algorithm
For the first time since GPUPI 1.x the code inside the calculation core was improved. GPUPI had some speed increases before but only because new hardware was officially supported/optimized or new CUDA/OpenCL versions introduced new features that GPUPI could use for improvements to stay on the edge of what's out there. This time we were able to trim the whole core and especially the 128 bit integer calculations. The compute kernels are now cleaner than ever and need less code paths to be backwards compatible. Additionally the comparability between different hardware architectures and driver platforms is now better than ever. Last but not least it offers a huge speedup to calculate pi faster on all compatible devices.
We know that the difference in speed brings up the question of credibility to compare different hardware. It also forces overclockers around the world to rebench their hardware to stay on top of the ranks. We thought hard about this and decided to go for it and push things forward for the benefit of releasing the best version of GPUPI, that we can currently offer. For detailed information about these implications please read our remarks on the HWBOT forums here and here.
The following performance improvements have been implemented in GPUPI 3:
    • Optimized 128 bit integer arithmetics
    • Support for CUDA 9.x with reduced kernel call latency and Memory Reduction with Warp Shuffeling (NVIDIA Pascal and above)
    • Improved kernel synchronization for OpenCL to reduce overhead

Just overclocked my 2080 Ti Ultra. +110/+950. Afterburner score of 14,188. Tried same settings with X1 so I can monitor Memory temps and can only reach a score of 13,700. Adding any more core clock just reduces the overall score, max memory temps I saw was 83* and the GPU at 69* after 10 minutes of stress. Better scores with afterburner? X1 still in beta.. could that be the cause, I dont see how it would make a difference but it did.
