Are you using two separate PCIe Power Cables on the GPU or One PCIe Cable? If One Cable give two separate PCIe Power Cables as go.

I have a slight coil whine on the TI XC ultra I picked up as well. Running on a corsair ax1200i and separate rails.

Use the Same Rail ( separate PCIe Power Cables) and do you still have coil whine?

Run some Benchmark Tools on Max for a few hours and allow the card to burn-in as they say.

I've messed around with various configs and still had it. It doesn't help that the card is quite silent which makes it more noticeable :P

It's so bad that the coil whine gets "transmitted" to my headphones

Remove your headphones while you run the Benchmark Tools! Could be your headphones or Motherboard causing this as well.

I've been running a lot of benchmarks on repeat and still have it. It's not terrible, but not great either. I've got a FTW3 on the way so I'll compare and probably return the XC ultra and keep my 1080ti in the secondary rig for now.

If it's really bad (and you've tried a different card to rule out any other hardware is causing it) I would return/exchange, personally.

I believe EVGA always keeps stock for RMA's and warranty stuff, so you could hit them up and see if that's a possibility.

Fixes for coil whine... #1 Put glue on the noisy coils. Only works if coils are exposed. Will void warranty if done. #2 Run ati tool overnight to burn the card in. Click show 3d view to start ati render test. #3 Increase/decrease voltage on the card. #4 Use frame rate limiter software to limit fps in game to reduce whine. #5 Try a different psu. #6 Try a different motherboard. #7 RMA the card.

I've tried a different psu, same result. Tried changing powerlimit. Capping frame rate with G-sync. Gonna leave it running over night and at work with the ati tool, hopefully it will reduce the coil whine

Hello Gr4ddfilen! Especially with new cards, sometimes it may just need a burn-in period before the capacitors settle and the coil whine remains inaudible. But if the coil whine continues at an untolerable level we can help with getting the card replaced under warranty. I will send you an e-mail so you can contact me directly.

I think the burn in and then RMA is the best option since this is a very new card.

Apologies for hijacking OP, but also running into this with a 2080 Ti XC. I tried running ATiTool for a good while to burn in the card but it didn't help too much honestly. It's particularly bad through headphones. I can provide more information if needed or simply make my own topic :x (edit: I do have a clip of it but I can't post it quite yet) (edit 2: thanks for the info, contacting support)

If it's too loud for you, contact EVGA. If you haven't already, register the card. https://www.evga.com/support/register.aspThen, create a support ticket. https://www.evga.com/support/ticket/support.aspxSee what they will do for you. Your options have already been listed. Sajin Fixes for coil whine...

For those viewing this thread to see if it's "just me, or how many others" I'll add my report that my 2080 XC also has some especially nasty coil whine, compared to the fan noise it's much louder than they are, there's no way I can run this on my work computer, it's driving me nuts. I did GPU mining with the 10 series cards and never experienced significant coil whine on any of the many 1070s and 1080tis I had for that. I'm hoping the coil whine issues on these 20 series cards are limited to the FE boards so it's potentially avoidable? Comments from those with FTW hardware would be appreciated.
