Got a simple question, what's the maximum Watts usage of the retail XC Ultra Gaming, how much more watts can i expect from using the 380Watts ROM?
 

I think the stock vbios is like 292w, then the vbios evga provides is 338, and the vbios in this thread allows 380w. So you'll be able to use an extra 42 watts.

Sorry to quote you like this when it isn't exactly related to what you said, but I feel you may be the best person to ask. Have you tested to see whether flashing the EVGA bios allowed you to control the LED color on your FE card?

I don't own a nvidia fe card, but I do own two evga 2382 cards which are reference based, and yes to modify the leds I have to switch back to the stock vbios.

Gotcha. I've been more interested in flashing one of the stock EVGA bios (or potentially the gaming oc bios from gigabyte) onto my FE to give me control of the leds on the cooler. However I'm not positive that doing so would give me control over it. Have you heard anything/any thoughts?

No vbios is going to allow you to change the color on a nvidia fe card.

Hmm. I haven't seen anything like that posted here on the forums, so it's probably fake. Test it out and let us know if it works or not.

So I tested, and apparently it didn't work. It did unlock the ability for me to change the color on X1, however that color isn't reflected on the card. I'm curious as to how the other two that claimed otherwise did it differently. Maybe try using the bios of the 2080ti equivalents of their cards?

Sorry to hear it didn't work. Using other evga 2080 ti vbios's will most likely show the same results.

Nope.

I did this with a 2080 Founder Edition to a XC Ultra. The fans don't spin right away because I'm guessing EVGA has a all-stop function. the 130% didn't do anything for the FE card. But its good to know I can buy the lowest EVGA model and save $150 next time.
 
Also do NOT do this in Windows! You are asking to kill the card. Either do it in dos or not all at....That being said I couldn't find a new DOS version so I did flash it in a fresh-clean windows. Also I think the ID mismatch version is windows only.

Does flashing bios void your warranty? I would assume so. Probably not a great idea with a 2080 Ti at this point with the relatively frequent card deaths.

Not as long as you're able to restore the vbios to original condition before sending it in.

A big risk with these dying 2080 ti's I wouldn't risk it. Specially for just a few extra mhz.

All of the BIOS for 2080 ti that I can find are 007E and my card is 0050. Is it possible to flash from 0050 to 007E?

Usually, if it doesn't want to do it, bad things happen when you force it. Is it worth ruining your video card and having no warranty? if the answer is yes, then proceed.

Truth! I figured it out. I have a non-A version of this GPU. I cannot get more than 310W I guess?

A soldering iron can do wonders.

Can anyone help? I'm getting the GPU mismatch error.
Current card: EVGA 2080ti Black (reference PCB) with a +12% power limit.I tried an EVGA XC Ultra vbios and the gigabyte F2 special vbios but I am getting the GPU Mismatch error. I am using the patched nvflash64 which should bypass this error but isn't. I turned off protection of course. Any ideas?
