Still sitting here with my money burning a hole in my pocket waiting for EVGA to give me any news... 9900k should be here next Monday would love to be able to put a new GPU in as well.

I'm with ya. sitting on a z390 mobo, i9 sometime monday/ tuesday.... but it will probably be 3 weeks before we get our hybrid cards :/

Re: RTX 20 series : Hybrid version 2018/10/16 01:31:02 (permalink)
I apologise in advance if this question has already been answered but are EVGA intending to release hybrid versions of both the 2080 ti FTW3 and the 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra or is there just one hybrid 2080 ti FTW3 model?

The reason I ask is that I think Jacob has only posted shots of the hybrid FTW3 and XC models. I’d prefer the hybrid 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra model if such a thing exists and I’d be disappointed if I preordered a hybrid 2080 ti FTW3 only to find that an Ultra version was released a couple of weeks later.

Thanks!

Farrago,

The ultra just has the larger heatsink.  The hybrid XC should be clocked higher than the XC ultra due to better cooling.

They’re releasing two hybrids this time? I thought the other variants were just hydro copper ones 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hopefully they release soon.  The MSI models are out now & available to buy...well at least the 2080 one is.  I'm hoping EVGA lists theirs up soon.

That makes perfect sense now, thanks for clarifying for me Alpinefear!

It should be just a hybrid for each brand.  XC and FTW3 will both get one iirc.  Same with the hydro coppers.

The FTW3 hybrid will have a bigger cooler than the XC Hybrid because the FTW3 uses a larger custom PCB.

Bigger shroud and possibly fan but the AIO cooler should be the same.  Only in air cooling is the heatsink bigger.

Any ETA on the Hybrid GPUs? I currently have a hybrid EVGA 1070 and am wanting a 2080ti Hybrid. Oh and I laugh at all the AMD fans trying to downplay these GPUs. Based on mt calculations you would need about 2 VEGA 64s to match just the graphics portion then about 10-15 to do the Ray tracing. Also is there a place I can see benchmarks for the 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra? I want to see a comparison to a 2080ti Founders edition.
Thanks

I’m with u guys..I’ve worn the text off my f5 key. Jacob said mid October last I checked, but that was before all of these delays for the air cooled FTW3. This cash is burning a hole in my pocket and that Seahawk X is tempting, but I’m trying super hard to hold out for the FTW3 Hybrid. Some news, any news, would be welcome. I’m thinking we will hopefully get some sort of update on the stream tomorrow. I just wish they’d open up preorders so I can get rid of the cash now and get over spending this much on myself right before Xmas lol.

Will the Hybrid kits fit the Nvidia reference cards?

I think the hybrid XC card will, not the FTW hybrid.

Will the 2080TI XC hybrid be the same size as the air cooled version? (269mm, dual slot)

@Topless_Stang, I listened to the Livestream and there was no mention of the hybrid cards. In fact the only 20 series card's they talked about we the 2070's.

Yeah, I finally got through it and saw there wasn't any new info.  I did see this post when looking for other info though.  In addition to it having a 120mm rad Jacob also said late October/Early November...so hopefully we will see movement within the next couple weeks...

Thanks for the extra info. Honestly with all the delays of this 20 series launch I kind of figured the hybrids would be pushed back to the start of Nov. That doesn't mean I'll stop abusing my f5 key though. XD

Sorry guys I was planning on waiting for the Hybrid card to release but with all the hysteria of not being able to get one before the end of the year, I caved in and purchased the 2080ti ftw3 directly from the evga shop an hour ago. Well see how the temperatures go and if anything I could always buy the Hybrid kit to add on eventually.

Nobody is going to blame you. These cards take forever to come out. Be it msi, gigabyte or evga...

I'm considering doing the same thing (assuming the ftw 3 comes back in stock).  I've always liked the hybrid models, but the lack of information is frustrating.  Please post your temperature info.  Starting to wonder if hybrid is that big of a deal at this point.

I don’t believe the ftw3 has better temps than aio. That being said, the aio ALSO exhausts hot air out of the case so overall case air vaccum is colder.
