I just started looking at these hybrid kits, will they make a kit for the ftw3 to buy separate or is the ftw3 hybrid a stand alone model gpu only ?

I've been waiting on these for the last month. Maybe I'll just do a custom loop, but that's about $500. :(

I was thinking about going custom too, but I'd rather not go through the hassle of taking the loop apart and reassembling the card back to stock if I ever had to send it in.  I plan to keep this one for a while.

There will be a seperate kit for FE/XC & FTW3 as well as cards that have the kit pre-installed.

Right on, thanks stang. Never wanted a hybrid, but the temps are hellish in my case with a ftw3.

anyone seen thermals numbers from other brands ? I’m sure it’s the exact same rad/pump.

After I saw temperatures for RTX series I will recommend to everyone Hybrid version.
She will resolve high temps easy, just look when they show up.
Hybrid was capable to drop price of GTX480 from constant 90C to 65C max.
Only all heat should be removed out of case instantly.

I think 240 mm radiator have no such impact on GPU temperatures as with processors.
Average gamers who use mid OC processors and fabric overclocked GPU could even use both AIO with 120mm radiators.

Squee! I can't wait to see them get their own page in the store. Then we can begin pre-ordering then and clicking "Auto Notify"

It is what i’m talking about. First sentence of that report is “gigabyte new hybrid solution etc”. How is it not a hybrid ? Enlighten me.

From my limited knowledge, a "hybrid" solution is to make use of both water and air cooled. If it is just water cooled, than it is not really a "Hybrid" solution.

It's a 2080, not a Ti. Plus it's a one piece plate covering GPU & VRM, i'd rather have GPU on AIO and fan on VRM to keep heat off the GPU. Stroll on the 2080ti FTW3 Hybrid!

Wow, i really need to update my sig, been a while since i've been on the forum!! :D

Yes you need the hybrid kit for the ftw3.

it's just the cooler and you install it yourself.

That's exactly right.

No you cannot.  You can only step up from w/e GPU to the basic XC Black or whatever they have available.  They never put the custom GPUs in the step up unless by some 2000 year old chance, they have a overstock of the custom GPUs which I have never witnessed in all of the years. lol

What you can do is wait for the Hybrid kits and install it yourself and as long as you don't damage anything, you're still under the warranty.

Jacob,
Any plans to bring a Hybrid version to the RTX 2070 series? I believe EVGA did a Hybrid for the GTX 1070 series but unsure if you would bring it over to this generation. Looking to get my son a hybrid card that's just plug-n-play. Thanks.
