Today is even warmer & the ride was awesome

2 Warm days in a row & Now I have to go clean more Bugs off, much worse than yesterdays kill rate

I am going to have to get that 2 stage polishing, super prep work & Ceramic Coating soon .... I just hope it works as advertised & makes "clean-up" easier

9 year guarantee GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra ...... professional application only ... apparently if you hose the application, you sand it off

I sold and installed 3M clear bra and ceramic coatings are a good product, but they never last as long as they say. Often we'd recommend it after installing clear bra (clear bra won't stick to it, after all). The only issue with the ceramic coating is it's rarely going to be a consistent coating, so multiple applications are usually best. That'll eliminate high and low spots. And it's true, if you do it wrong or leave areas uncoated you'll have to buff it off with a wool pad and polisher. But I think the only reason they say professional application only is to keep detailers in business.. anyone with a modicum of body work experience will be able to apply it.

OK, finally got paint & "fabric" protection on the ROUSH,

Full Detail service complete:

One-Stage paint Polishing - to get the factory paint in top shape.  Shop said paint was like new and did not need the more expensive Two-Stage polishing

GTECHNIQ "Crystal Serum Ultra" 9 yr warranty Ceramic treatment - paint & plastic surfaces

Glass - Polished, Cleaned & Sealed

Convertible top - Sealed

Wheels - removed, cleaned & GTECHNIQ C5 "Wheel Armor"

Full Interior - clean & seal - leather seats, carpets, dash, trunk

yes, it was expensive - I look at it as an investment to help make the ROUSH easier to clean & keep clean

Looks better than when it came off the factory floor - the paint shine is very reflective

I'll add a photo after I get them up on the host site

Deep shine post polish & ceramic treatment

Reflection of the closeup side view shows the great finish on the paint

the reflection of the metal building "panel lines"(show on side of door as wavy lines) and gravel reflection

the pavement, parking space at the lower door area ... you can see the parking white line & asphalt reflection

photos are from a text message .. so not the highest quality photos ... best I can post for now

Re: ROUSH R3 Mustang GT Convertible 2023/05/27 08:08:20 (permalink)
Update

Still thinking about adding a bolt in roll bar.

Watson S550 4 PT BOLT-IN ROLL BAR FOR CONVERTIBLE (WR-15-BOLTINCAGE-C) 2015-CURRENT
(excerpt - install directions)
"Minimal trim panel modification. With our roll bar’s design, the changes required to the trim panels are VERY minimal. No cutting your trim panels in half with our bar"

that is why I'm just thinking about it, not sure I want to make trim panel modifications on my stock parts.  Might need to look around & see if replacement panels are available.

Also considering the rear seat delete carpet kit S550 MUSTANG CARPET KIT (WR-15-4PTCARPETBLK) 2015-CURRENT

Still looking forward to making a dyno run to see @ wheel, HP numbers

Still need to see if my convertible, will be allowed at least one pass at a local strip, sans roll bar?

Stock GT convertible is rated 12.5 sec @ 114.5 mph (fast for an over 4000 lb, 2 wheel drive, car)

So my supercharged extra 290 HP & 250 ft lbs of extra torque (extra ft lbs, starts right off idle) on stock 20 inch ROUSH wheels & summer performance tires, might shave a good 1/2 second or more, off of the stock time & add around 15 to 20 MPH to the top end?

If my car runs that fast, I bet they do not let me make a second run without the roll cage.

I think you may like the roll cage for the stiffness factor. Due to the convertible top. May currently be a little twist in hard use. I don't know if they use the torque boxes found on older cars. Something removable may be a good idea if you decide to sell sometime.  Nice car Cool!
