Maybe it's already been mentioned. But I dropped from like 8000 posts to 3000ish with the deletion of some of the GPU forums.

Such a shame. EVGA was my #1 forum. Now it's like #3 lol.

Yeah I noticed it too, not that I really care but I was around 14.5k posts. With the deletion of GPU sections I guess it really exposes what my interests are...

Though having my forum title knocked down from an "Omnipotent Enthusiast" (fun fact: that is a forum title I was responsible for creating years ago here) to an "Classified Ultra member" does sting a bit......

so weird as to why yours isn't.   I would assume doing something to the GPU section of the forum altered post count and I know you post there all the time.

Who knows what they deleted or archived. Something similar happened years back when they moved to a new forum format in that it removed blue ribbons from your count. Though it was only a display bug and you still had the EVGA bucks from them credited to your account in your profile. They never fixed it from what I remember and I lost about 100 ribbons from my displayed count. Though I really didn't care since like I said your total EVGA bucks remained unchanged.

As for this? If they deleted posts I'm not sure we will be given back our post counts. Does that change anything or devalue someone's posts? Of course not, posts should be judged on their content and not the users post count.

If they deleted the industry news section, he would have like 500 posts.

Why delete some GPU forums? There is still info there that is useful. Why not just archive them, or remove the link in the main forums if clutter was the reason. Just because EVGA are not selling GPUs now doesn't mean they never did, there's no need to just wipe out all that info. Sounds like another nail in the self-imposed coffin.

NotebookReview deleted their forums a while back, man some people were so angry about it - there was years of really good info there about modding laptops, reviews, custom BIOS etc., some very talented people there. It was one the the top, if not THE top laptop resource forum on the internet, and they just decided one day to delete the lot and close the site. Some senior members asked for the database so they could continue it somewhere else, but the owners refused. Why? Because asshats gonna asshat.

Gonna agree here. Self-imposed coffin and all. The storage they saved is minimal at best. The data they removed had some priceless info in it.

Perhaps this is to make room for subforums of each power supply line that they sell, because they want to sell more power supply?

Given how bad Intel's GPU launch was, this is an opportunity for EVGA to jump ship, but I doubt it.

Perhaps this is to make room for subforums of each power supply line that they sell, because they want to sell more power supply?

Given how bad Intel's GPU launch was, this is an opportunity for EVGA to jump ship, but I doubt it.

Sales of Intel's GPUs don't really start until next week

The reviews came out yesterday, and they are not good.

I didn't expect first gen Intel video cards to have great reviews.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I expect the very first start of their video cards to be average. Intel needs to try and hit the medium tier video card market next and with better quality.

And that is why I said EVGA can certainly help with its engineering prowess, but I don't think they will listen to me.

Although the crazy speculation about why the post counts changed is certainly tempting enough to pull out some popcorn and sit back and watch, I'm afraid the cause is simply basic server maintenance, including recounting all posts and messages from members.

Jacob edited the name of one of the Graphics Card sections recently, but didn't delete any sections, which is what some of you might have mistaken for removing sections.  As a general rule, we merge posts into a different subforum before removing the doomed subforum.  We haven't removed any sections since around the time of the last great subforum shakeup (which was quite some time ago).

I'm checking with our IT to see if the post count changes might be temporary or permanent.

Why would post counts of members need to be recounted?
