Testing the 3090 Ti now and it is a Great Card.
I have hit 2320 bench making and testing @ 140+ on the GPU.
I am running +100 GPU and + 400 on the Memory running GFN 18+ until I hit GFN 21 later today.
I am pushing my UPS to 820 Watts running only on the GPU.

Good deal Bill, nice upgrade. Good luck with the new card.
I know you don't mine but the newest drivers from Nvidia unlocked all the 30xx LHR cards.
Guess they figured that they don't need it anymore. Not sure if it matters for other data processing.
Supposedly not, but I never tested it, never mined.

The RMA 2080 Ti Card I got back last week is running Great.
The other card is on the way back to EVGA.

Isn't your warranty void? EVGA is honoring it anyway?

ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill

Just a few hours to go and holding on to 9th place.
Some boxes are done and can't do another task in time. I'm moving them over to WCG.

Well I bet he is thinking this part of the warranty section will void our warranties because we fold and do BOINC research.
This is from their warranty section.

What is not covered by this Limited Warranty

This Limited Warranty applies only to Products used in accordance with this Limited Warranty and EVGA's published documentation, and does not cover:

  • Any damages to the components, hardware and/or assembly of the Products including but not limited to damages caused as a result of neglect, abuse, accidents, misuse, or unusual physical, electrical or electromechanical stress (including due to uninterrupted use of the Products, or use of the Products for blockchain processing, cryptocurrency mining, or similar purposes).
See it does not say folding, rendering or BOINC, I believe that is for a reason, EVGA supports scientific research.
They had the folding buck program and they give the teams web space on their forums.
If they wanted to exclude folding, rendering and BOINC they would of said so.
Folding and BOINC is nothing like mining coin, blockchain at all. One is greed and one if giving forward scientific research.
And even mining does not VOID a warranty read what it says closely. Any damage done because of mining or blockchain will void the warranty.
Here is a post from an EVGA employee directly concerning this very issue.

4) EVGA specifically says mining voids your warranty, so calling them up and complaining about high mem temps from mining seems a little counter productive.

Mining does not void the warranty. Damage that happens from doing so would. A pretty distinct thing we need to understand.

And on top of all that, EVGA gave you a RMA and another GPU, so don't worry about it, I'm not.

Very interesting.

The EVGA employee's statement is in direct contradiction to the words in their written warranty.

It does not need to specify BOINC or FAH or anything specific. The terms say that abnormal uninterrupted use voids the warranty. It states that mining is an example, but logically is not the only example. FAH or BOINC would logically also be examples.

Good for us if they honor what they have no reason to honor. If EVGA continues to struggle financially, I would expect their actions to change and more closely follow the minimum terms written. My interpretation is that if you buy an EVGA card after May 2018 (or whatever it says, don't remember exactly), if you mine with it, fold with it, BOINC with it, crunch with it, run Furmark stress test 24/7, whatever/anything 24/7 "abnormal", EVGA has the right to deny warranty, and good luck taking them to court over it. Since EVGA changed those warranty terms and killed off so many community aspects and associated rewards, I am honestly surprised that they honored the warranty claim for a card damaged after folding/crunching/whatever.

An employee's current statement on the matter only indicates their current handling of the subject. Their current or past statement doesn't make it wrong to believe that what you did voided the warranty. They deliberately altered the warranty terms in order to make your actions something which is defined as warranty voiding. By following through and modifying the warranty terms, they showed a deliberate intent of making that a warranty voiding action, and they can use that against you whenever they want.

Without a doubt, folding and crunching voids the video card's warranty. I guess the only question is whether EVGA will hold it against you.

I don't know if you ever posted about warranties in here (PG) before but I remember you posting that this project was a waste of energy and or time.
To me gaming is a waste of energy and time but I don't judge what people want to do for a hobby.

Also I would like to think EVGA can take care of a great customer if they want to. It's very common in every business.

People don't game 24/7, and games rarely are so straightforward and uniform that they can be so optimized to consume as much power. The "abnormal" 24/7 load stipulation is based on the idea that gaming is not as taxing.
On the other hand, I think the warranty stipulation is short-sighted as it does not recognize that thermal cycles are usually the killer.
As far as "waste" is concerned, I think crunching uses much more energy; both as an instantaneous measurement, and as an hours-per-day measurement, regardless of anyone's opinion of perceived worth.

But it does not say mining voids the warranty, it says damage cause by it is not covered.
Say you have a Hybrid or a Hydrocoper and the block or rad starts to leak.
That is not caused by mining or playing games so it would be covered.
A fan falls off or stops working, that is not from mining, folding or gamming, that's covered for sure.
Now say a memory chip burned up, that maybe cause by mining, but it could happen when playing a game.

That was the same thread he came in here and called me a dinosaur and that I will be replaced.
I took that as it meant he wanted me dead. Maybe I took it wrong, maybe not. Hard not to take it that way.
But we are way off topic going down this rabbit hole.

'Damage caused by uninterrupted use of products'. When a product fails, it is damaged. When the failure happened during uninterrupted use, that is damage caused by uninterrupted use.

It is very clear and obvious. The only thing that isn't obvious is how EVGA will handle it.

It clearly says " CAUSED BY" not "HAPPENED DURING" there is a huge difference.
So you are wrong, even the EVGA tech said so..

Like in NY getting a pistol permit, it used to say "May issue" meaning if they feel like it.
Now it says "Shall issue" meaning they have to issue the permit unless there is a good reason not to.
Words have meaning and they clearly used words that they wanted to and what they meant by them.
Mining does not cause a water block to leak, or a fan to fail. Their x1 software can set a fan to run 24/7/365.
It should not hurt it or they would not put that feature in there.

Besides all that, they replaced it, so it’s over let it go

I don't want to go off on a tangent. We can agree to disagree, but I just want to reiterate that "uninterrupted" use, according to the warranty, can cause the damage to occur. 'Happening during' and 'caused by' are the same thing according to the terms, in my interpretation.
If it died during crunching 24/7 for 2 years, what else "caused" it?

My Cards were Fine, they only had leaks in the Water Blocks.

I found out tonight that I cannot run two rigs with 3080 and 3090 in one of my rooms, it is pulling to much power.
I did not have any issues with one 2080 and one 1080.
