Hello,

I just purchased an RTX 2080 XC2 Ultra, and also installed the precision x1 software.
My problem is it only shows one fan, even though my graphics card has two.
And the other fan doesn't spin, even at 65C°+

Any help greatly appreciated

Do you have Windows Fast Startup - turned off ?

Was this a new build or a GPU upgrade ?  If Upgrade what was the last GPU ?

    Thanks for the welcome,

-i'm not sure what that is, I didn't turn it on, that's for sure. (fresh w10 pro install)

-semi upgrade... I upgraded from a GTX970 but also installed a new clean drive for the new windows installation

(btw now running star citizen at 72C° and still only one fan spins)

Remember to turn Windows 10 Fast Startup OFF, when upgrading drivers, firmware or hardware

With Windows 10 there is a new “hybrid” startup mode that should cut down on boot up times.

It does this by putting the PC into hibernation instead of "fully shutting down."

This Causes Windows to Not fully see or load proper drivers for New hardware (because there was Not a Cold Boot)

Windows Central - How to disable Windows 10 fast startup (and why you'd want to)

How-to Geek The Pros and Cons of Windows 10’s “Fast Startup” Mode

The simplest way to totally bypass Windows -- not fully shutting down:

    1) shutdown Windows .. normally

    2) Unplug Everything that is connected to PC that gets power from the wall [USB hubs, printers, monitors ...]
(---> just remove power cord from wall outlet, do not have to remove item from PC - MB)

    3) Press & hold start button 20 seconds to fully discharge all capasitors

    4) plug it all back in & Boot

While your unplugged:  Confirm the GPU is fully seated & locked in place & power cords are fully Seated & Locked

Note: Use two separate PCIe power cables from PSU to GPU ---> Not the single cable with the two ends (jumper)

ok so I looked it up, and fast startup was indeed on, and I now turned it off.
So what do I do now, to get both fans to work? Reinstall the drivers and/or precision x1 ?

EDIT: can the single power cable really be the cause for a fan to not work ?
EDIT2: just reinstalled (clean install) drivers and x1 with fast start up turned off and after shutting down and unplugging power, both problems still persist :(

No, but a single PCIe cable can cause stability issues & shutdowns
    Remove & reinstall the X1

    download & run GPU-Z    --  (free utility)

Look at sensor tab ---> does it show 2 fans ?

Could be:  BIOS issue  -or- bad fan / fan controller

With card removed if you look closely - you might be able to see if the fan power connection is fully seated .. yes, its tight & hard to see

If it is still not working, Make sure your have registered the card & uploaded the receipt --- might have to RAM  ---> time to call CS

Last option that comes to mind Remove current version of X1 .... follow all steps in that previous FAQ.  Now try loading ver 1.0.2 of X1

Ok so I took it out, and I discovered a hardware issue.

    this fan power cable
    imgur.com/iSW431v
    imgur.com/fDkkUD1

was misplaced and kinda wedged in-between the cooling grill and the fan2 itself, so it prevented the fan2 from turning.

I pushed it back in where it belongs and now everything is how its supposed to be.
both work, and it also shows up in x1.

    Thank you for your help.
    Have nice day!
