Have some problem, I fixed it by deleting the user.config file. Then i runed xc1 and mark new user.config file as read only.
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd\PX18.exe_Url_hc3ktbnnysm3raowmod2fmuhbijyvzkw\0.3.12.0

Upd.
after reboot, doesn't start with windows

Upd. 2 - third try
user.config file didnt marked as read only and saved preferences into application's First [1] Profile
After this manipulations all works fine. I think maybe problem into [0] profile slot.

Edit:
Try uninstalling Precision X1.
Then delete any remaining folders in install directory.
Then go into your Users-<your user name> appdata/local folder, and delete the EVGA folder along with it's contents.
Reboot the PC for good measure.
 
Now try to install the latest version - 0.3.9 of Precision X1. Install as Administrator. I would also set it to "Run as Administrator".
Now try launching PX1 and see what happens.


Thanks so much Don... that totally did the trick. I didn't need to read past your post to figure out what was going on and get it working.
 
BTW - As a side note, here's a possible PSA (I don't know if anyone's had this happen): I was merrily OC-ing the card when it went bat-s**t crazy. It literally went one toke over the line. At 999 MHz boost for the memory, the card pinned the power to around 97-99%. I had the GPU at about 195 MHz boost, so voltage was also pinned.  The card ran like a champ. Totally stable. Temps never got above 73. I was getting about 60 FPS on AC Unity at QHD@30 Hz and FXAA, all other settings on ultra.
 
THEN, I set the memory boost to 1,000 MHz, and my system cratered (which, at some point, I guess there always will be that one straw... and I found it). But here's the strange part: on reboot, it lost one of the 850 EVO RAID 0 arrays. Fortunately, I didn't panic (I had a full system image, which kept me calm), and I simply rebooted. Without making any changes, everything was back to normal on that next reboot. Everything except for PX1 that is, which wouldn't launch.
 
So, that's how I got into this thread. But now, I have everything pinned again and it's all hunky-dory... and I'm not going to go over 999 again (and JIC, I'm going to dial back the GPU). So again, many thanks Don.

You could try (Free) to uninstall PX1..Use the Advanced Mode after uninstall completes to scan for and delete the leftover registry entries* and program files/folders that are found..Then restart your PC and install PX1 again.
 
Other than that, hmmm.
 
*WARNING!: Delete only the registry entries shown in bold text in Revo.


I couldn't get it to launch any way I sliced it. I used Iobit to uninstall it. After reading Don's post, I logged in as another user and it launched just fine. So, I hunted down every directory, file, and registry entry and then reinstalled. It launched without any problems. As I mentioned before, a lot of manual scrubbing.

As others have found, it has something to do with how the config file is read. Every time that I deleted the config files after a problem launching, it launched fine. So, I'm not sure what's going on.

Just tried dl and running 0.3.10 and it still isn't working for me running Windows 7 64 bit.




This is getting ridiculous, i've practically told EVGA Developers how to rectify this.
 
It's an absolute (removed) lie that it was developed for 10 as the Assembly that it is failing on was provided to 8.0, its a simple fix i could do it i under 5 minutes myself.
 
EVGA, your developers are LIARS.
 
Guys, i will make a fix for this over the next week or so, if the evga half rate hacks aren't going to make a simple non-consequential change to the base aero assembly in use, i'll just provide you a way to install the one needed.
 
And done

 
setup is unsigned, files installed are all microsoft signed.

Thanks squall.... couldn't agree more. It's good they edited your post because I'd probably agree with those missing parts too. The problem, IMO, was the insanely sloppy install package with the worst uninstaller ever. It was like a muddy dog ran through the house across all the white carpets -- and knocked over a bunch of Bloody Mary's on the carpets while running. It took a lot of scrubbing (and time), but no elevated privileges and no Windows updates.

I still think it's a permissions issue with Win10 Pro..Read a little farther down in thread.

You may need to give the .cfg files write permission.

is a copy of my user.cfg file I put on my OneDrive page for you..You might try replacing yours with mine and set how it rolls..It's in a stock, unadulterated configuration from a clean install of PX1 v0.3.9 BETA with OSD and Start Minimized disabled.



Unfortunately, there's no clean install unless we do the cleaning ourselves. It never uninstalled cleanly, which was, IMO, the root of the problem. Because it didn't uninstall cleanly, from what I could tell, the existing user config blocked the reinstall from launching. I had tried all of the suggestions that were listed. But then Don's original post got me going down the right path. But it was a pain.

I have the same problem, but your patch did not work form me. 
 
Precision x1 stopped working.  Here's the info below.  I'm running win 7 pro 64 bit.  I have an evga 2070 super card.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have always been a loyal EVGA customer dating back from the since the 470GTX or maybe even earlier. Sadly this latest fiasco with the Precsion app unable to launch has made me decide the next card will be from Gigabyte. I have a Gigabyte motherboard and their Windows 10 Pro apps appear to be fine, not missing a beat during startups and actually more stable than the old versions on my old Gigabyte motherboards.
 
I have always set my fans to use my custom curves via Precision to prevent them from over heating. Without being able to launch the app that is now impossible.

We're in 2020 now I decided to get back into Precision X1 today and see how far EVGA has gone with this obstacle... I have my (1080Ti Hybrid FTW3) So far for me is running, but I can't read the tray icon is way too small to read and the LED Sync for some reason has the front [EVGA HYBRID] logo with the correct Blue color I chose, but the top [EVGA GEFORCE GTX1080Ti] logo is a lighter blue compared to the front logo color no matter how dark I make the Blue look??...IDK it bothers me I like to have my color theme in sync.... I might go back to the old Precision XOC

I'm kinda gravedigging this thread but since I had this very problem today and found a solution I thought it may help others. So for me the problem was the Check Update setting. The program appears to crash when it tries updating. I could verify this with the Check Now button in the settings which causes the crash as well. I can change the other settings without a problem so far.

Finally I figured out why Precision X1 keeps crashing on load. I cleared my settings, reapplied my overclock and other settings but left it as "Never" for check for updates. The program seems to be working again.

Welcome..Be sure to have 'Check updates' in the settings set to 'Never' and then click 'Apply' or it'll crash again, and you'll just need to delete the user.cfg again.

Go to %localappdata%\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd and delete all contents.
Then open it again. It worked for me (Steam).
Btw, you'll lose all your saved profiles.

None of the fixes listed here work for me.
Fresh install of PX1 and all it does is open and close.

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 1809.

I'm waiting for the same thing. Did everything mentioned from people here, still having the same problem. Tried uninstalling, installing older version, mess with the user config, deleting user config, different location saving, turning off firewall/protection from my security suite, etc etc
 
Running 1070 TI FTW2 on a X299 FTW K board.
 
Didn't have a problem until a few days ago when I notice my fan speed didn't speed up and saw the X1 wasn't running

I just got my RTX 3080 and I haven't tried an old version but Precision X1 won't open when I have a secondary graphics card in another PCI-E slot (in my case I have a GeForce GT 710 connected).
When I remove the GT 710, Precision X1 opens just fine.

Yep, same thing here. It shows the "Precision X1" splash screen and then immediately after that it closes without any error report.

I had this problem for 3days now got it fixed i,m not sure if it is the same ..but if you have icue installed try enable plugins in the setting there..i know its werid but somehow my gpu shows in icue as "Asus gpu" . my px1 would not open if i disbled plugins but working good no more crashes after enabled.(rtx2080 ftw3 ultra)

I have a GT 710 too to go along with my 3090 b/c I still have a monitor that is dvi-d only.  Precision X1 opens up with no issues.  I just can't run the OC Scan as it is just stuck at 0%.

My oc scan stuck at 99% ..but somehow i can manually add more mhz than i used to. Max boost used to be 2055-2070mhz now end up with 2100mhz and seem very stable ..

I had the same problem that it would not start, and i have a 3080 with an extra  GT 710 gpu.
My solution was to disable the GT 710 in the Device manager and then start Precision X. So it´s clerarly multi GPU problem

Ok.  Precision X1 has been working and today, it won't open.  I have followed all of the possible solutions here and in the Precision X1 FAQ and it tries to start up but then just closes.  Any ideas?
 
Update - if I disable my second GPU a GT 710, Precision will open.  I did not have this issue before.
