Ive been running a 2600k for years now, and im at the point were i need to upgrade my platform as a whole for newer usb ports and other things, not so much the speed.  My question for everyone, is will my Corsair HX1000 power supply be ok for a new Z170 Classified K motherboard?  It works perfect and had zero issues with it.  I do know that the HX1000 is compatible with the 6700k skylake cpu.  Whats would you guys recommend?  Ive ran Evga motherboards for the last 9 years on 3 builds.  Pretty sure im sticking with evga.

    This may help you out.
Any PSU that you would buy today or in the last 1-2 years would be supported.
You do not post what Graphics Cards you will be using so with the Power Meter you can select the number you may use.
If you are keeping your EVGA GTX 780 Ti then your current PSU should be fine as long as it is not 3 or more years old.
If your current PSU is 4 or more years old then you should get a new PSU. Your PSU the HX1000 was released in 2008.
The HXi Series was released in 2014.

Nothing wrong with that power supply as long as it's not past its warranty date of 5 years.

I bought the hx1000 in 2009, so yeh.. its showing its age, still runs perfect though :)  I honestly was thinking of just selling the entire tower as a whole complete unit and then buying all new stuff due to how what ive used has changed from sli/crossfire builds to single gpu system.  Time to start doing math.  lol
