@y2kcamaross @ilIusi0nist Yea I know. Still working on this one.

-_-

All i want is just to pre order, to be sure i have 2 titan x pascal hybrid kits.....
I hope we receive some details this week, they disappoint (future) customers that are waiting for three quarters of a year by only saying "SOON".

EVGA or Jacob

Please bring some FACTS, thats all we need. Give us something to look forward to.

** I replied on the tweet:
@TEAMEVGA @EVGA_JacobF @y2kcamaross Just bring some FACTS that's what your "Future" customers want or let us pre-order to have satisfaction

@ NA087  lol at the alternative facts

Yup, I'm also still thinking it's been ready for a little while, just being held for the Ti release, and a big middle finger right in the face of Titan XP owners. Likely going to be hard to get one for at least a few more months as the masses of new Ti owners jump on any available stock. Awesome. Screw you too.

Update via Twitter:

"Yes I worked on this last night and have an update, good news and bad news... Good is it will also fit 1080 Ti. Bad is we need to wait another couple weeks. I really apologize for the long delay on these. Definitely was not expected delay."

I asked if Titan X owners could purchase the GTX 1080 kits and get a PROPER shroud cover later on (they did this for Maxwell Titan X owners because the product was also not ready at launch) - but we don't know if a major redesign of the cooler has happened. We'll see if he answers. I personally would be 100% fine running the 1080 Hybrid kit if all I need to wait for is a proper shroud to cover it up later on. But if the cooler was redesigned to fit/work better... I'd wait it out.

There is absolutely no excuse for the almost year delay its a hybrid kit. The 1080 one released couple month after relase and that fits on titan with few cuts to retention plate. Not like the is the first kit ever made and they are new to this.

Calling it now they are holding back till after the FTW *non hybrid release* release so it don't effect sales.

Makes perfect sense from a business standpoint. May also be why Jacob happened to not reply to my several tweets asking if the 1080 kit works properly for the Titan X and 1080 Ti.

I would much rather run half my FE shroud + hybrid cooler, or modify the hybrid shroud to fit properly, than wait weeks and weeks... but only IF it cools properly. GamersNexus seems to think that it does work just fine, but I'm still concerned EVGA may release a cooler that works better for these cards.

Hey EVGA, I sure would love to know if I can safely cool my Titan X using the 1080 Hybrid AIO kit!... I don't want to wait for weeks and probably miss the Titan X/1080 Ti kit going out of stock due to the rush ordering that will surely happen... I don't care about the shroud incompatibility as I will fix that myself. But if the Titan X/Ti kit is BETTER for those cards... it'd be nice to know.

Guess I should update the fail list;

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!

Actually, just shut up, because I'm pretty much done with this. There was a screen shot of it working back on December 15th (remember: "almost here, 46C full load!") so to still be sitting here almost 3 months later is bs. It would appear this is being held for release with one of the new Ti models, meaning the new AIO stock is already there but is being used to create one of the new Ti models - a ready-made 1080Ti Hybrid, as opposed to just selling the AIO cooler by itself. Can almost guarantee this AIO cooler won't be released until after the pre-installed 1080Ti Hybrid card is released. Those of you waiting to buy a new ready-built hybrid card, apparently it'll be out in "another couple weeks". For the rest of us - well we can continue to suck on it. On the bright side, EK will hopefully have their stand-alone AIO cooler out in early April, and I dare say it'll be significantly better anyway, so that's likely what I'll be waiting for now. At least when EK give guidance, it's generally reliable.

Re: (Petition) for EVGA TITAN X HYBRID 2017/03/08 20:56:39 (permalink)
Yup, same for me. I don't want to encourage being strung along like this with this ridiculous timeline and it was something a lot of us predicted way back in September/October of EVGA possibly holding out to make the cooler compatible with the 1080 Ti. Only thing is the 1080 Ti took a lot longer to release than most people thought. I hope more manufacturers see the value and potential of AIO hybrid coolers and sell them as a standalone.

Literally, the only thing that needed to be adjusted was the metal plate underneath the plastic shroud... Would have been cool to see other changes, but the metal plate was the bare minimum. Either EVGA didn't want to produce a small number of units for such a niche product or this was a massive goof-up.

Hm.  After this experience it is doubtful I will ever buy anything Evga again.  I simply don't like getting strung a long for almost a year.

Can you elaborate? I'm really close to just throwing on the GTX 1080 Hybrid kit. GamersNexus and a few random people online have done so without any reported issues... other than modifying the plastic shroud to fit, or running only half the metal FE shroud.

Re: (Petition) for EVGA TITAN X HYBRID 2017/03/09 13:36:47 (permalink)
It's pretty straight forward - I did this for both of my Titan X P cards.  Just take your time when doing it.

If you don't want to cut metal, you can use the existing Titan X heat spreader and fan, but won't be able to use the hybrid kit shroud and PCB heat spreader.  It will look like this when it is done:

The process is thus:

1. Remove the outer shroud
2. Remove the Titan X P GPU cooler (the big metal fin one)
3. You have to remove the PCB back plate and heat spreader (a lot of screws) so that you can connect the 1080 Pump to the PCB fan connector
4. The EVGA pump connector is also a splitter that allows you to connect the existing fan and pump to the PCB header (it's a pain to get all the wires back in - just take your time)
5. Reinstall PCB heat spreader and back plate
6. Mount the AIO cooler to the GPU

Here's a simple build log from when I did mine:

http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/776114-Build-Log-JrClocker-s-Titan-X-P-AIO-Hybrid-Cooler-Mod

Since this build log, I tweaked the overclock, and put 2 Corsair ML120 fans (in push/pull) on the radiator that I drive off my motherboard.  (Both cards stay at 2100 MHz and under 45 C now).

Also, I keep the Titan X P fan running at a constant 40%.  It cools the Mosfets and memory.  You can barely hear it at 40%.

I am waiting for the EVGA kit as I want it to look pretty again.

That's really neat. Thanks for the post.

Any ways, I'm sure we'll see the Hybrid Cooler arrive after the launch of the 1080 Ti. Which was probably the plan all along.

You can do it the GamerNexus way as kagnow said, but you can't use the plastic shroud. If you're willing to use a dremel (will require cutting and grinding), this video will show you the level of work involved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03uJc7gT2jg . Only thing I would and did do differently in the video was unscrew the heatsink near the opposite end of the video connectors. If would have to buy a tool or dremel to do this, it's absolutely not worth the effort. The cooler that will fit the 1080Ti and Titan XP is inevitable at this point and hopefully a little bit different/better than the 1080 one.

You have to cut one 1in x 1in section near where the power connectors would go since there is not enough space for both and another 0.5 x 0.5in cut near where the bottom portion of the VRMs are.

My result: http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2555778 . I was impatient getting the cooler since I couldn't stand the original one so I was planning to use the 1080 hybrid kit until the official one came out. Good thing I didn't end up waiting.

Judging by your pictures, it looks like you don't NEED to remove the PCB heat sink plate. When I put the GTX 980 Hybrid cooler on my Maxwell Titan X's, I did not remove it. I was able to unplug the fan power connector through the tiny hole cut into the base plate, plug in the splitter, and tuck away the wires just fine that way. It looks like you can do the same thing here, but would need pliers or something to unplug the fan connector since it is in a recessed area.

My result: http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2555778 . I was impatient getting the cooler since I couldn't stand the original one so I was planning to use the 1080 hybrid kit until the official one came out. Good thing I didn't end up waiting.

I didn't know the new kits came with a different PCB base plate, so now I may want to wait. I wouldn't bother modifying the GTX 1080 plate. If anything, I'd do it the GamersNexus way and just re-use the original base plate, and deal with having only half a shroud on the card. As they said, it should be totally safe... just looks a little weird. But honestly, I dislike the EVGA shroud compared to the FE shroud. Part of me wants to just cut the metal shroud on my Titan XP to fit the coolant tubes out the side (I don't have warranty since I bought used anyway), but it would be harder to re-sell later.

If you are REALLY SUPER DUPER 110% MEGA CAREFUL, you don't need to remove the PCB heat sink plate.

I tried this with my first card mod, and that's how I broke the fan cable.  For the second card, I decided it would be safer/faster to remove the PCB heat sink plate versus risking breaking the cable again.

Literally, the only thing that needed to be adjusted was the metal plate underneath the plastic shroud...

Can you elaborate? I'm really close to just throwing on the GTX 1080 Hybrid kit. GamersNexus and a few random people online have done so without any reported issues... other than modifying the plastic shroud to fit, or running only half the metal FE shroud.

Might be better for your peace of mind to just forget about EVGA's mystery AIO or jury-rigging something else on a $1,200 GPU - at this point EK are supposed to have their stand-alone AIO cooler out in early April, and I dare say it'll be significantly better anyway. Here's the page to watch for now. At least when EK give guidance, it's usually reliable (hope I don't regret saying that, lol). Based on history, I have absolutely zero faith EVGA Titan XP AIO cooler will be out by this time next week, which was the most recent guidance in a long chain of fails.

Since this build log, I tweaked the overclock, and put 2 Corsair ML120 fans (in push/pull) on the radiator that I drive off my motherboard.  (Both cards stay at 2100 MHz and under 45 C now).

Also, I keep the Titan X P fan running at a constant 40%.  It cools the Mosfets and memory.  You can barely hear it at 40%.

I am waiting for the EVGA kit as I want it to look pretty again.

that actually looks pretty sick.
although the hoses pressed on the side of the raised edge is kind of worrysome
