I'm slightly bias for sony, but either go ps4pro or xb1s. I own all the consoles and will also still get the upcoming switch.
I don't have the ps4pro or xb1s as I don't have a real need to upgrade them even though I do have a 4k tv to go with it. I'll be waiting for maybe a special collectors edition of the console in the future instead.

 
For the love of god. Get the PS4 Pro ASAP! It is totally worth the upgrade from a standard PS4. As long as you have a 4k tv. Which you do! The resolution increase is instantly noticeable. UC4 looks AMAZING on the Pro with 4k tv.

90% didn't care about which PS4 they had.

I doubt those people are hanging out on the forums of a video card manufacturer. We are spending the full price of the PS4 and PS4 Pro, if not more, for just one piece of hardware in our PCs. We are pushing 4k at 60fps because we want the best. I think the people in that video would look at a $700 video card and never in their lives consider buying one, or even know how to install one.
 
I also have no doubt that 100% of the people on this forum could tell the difference between a PS4 and a PS4 Pro in a side by side comparison.

Well, I can't see the difference (or barely see a difference) in the side-by-side and split-screen images and videos I have seen. Can you? Plus, once you are caught up in the story of a game, I doubt you notice how sharp a person's hair is.

It looks like a waste of money to me; until they can make a game or experience significantly different.

I can tell the difference, but if I couldn't tell the difference I wouldn't have bought one. :D
The most noticeable things for me are the anti-aliasing and the texture detail. The image overall looks sharper. I think a lot of that is lost in YouTube compression. It's very noticeable on a 4k TV.
 
If you saw them in person side by side I'm pretty confident you would be able to see the difference.
 
It's not even just graphics. Some games like Tomb Raider have a 60 FPS mode on the PlayStation Pro if you're not running the game at 4k. Final Fantasy XV has a "Lite" mode on the PlayStation Pro that renders at a consistent 30fps, unlike the normal PS4 that drops into the 20s and even the teens.
 
All the games so far with PlayStation Pro have been patched to add Pro support. I don't think any have been developed with the Pro in mind. This year's games should make better use of the Pro.

The bigest point for me will be , being able to use an ext hdd for media, and an ext SSD for installed games!

Being pointless or not really depends on the game.

The PlayStation Pro uses SATA 3.0 and can support an SSD internally. The load time difference really depends on the game. Fallout 4 went from about 49 seconds to 27 seconds. But a game like Project Cars went from 44 seconds to 41 seconds, not a huge improvement.

The PlayStation Pro does not support external hard drives for games, but you can use an external drive for media and saved game files.
 
 
The Xbox One has two USB 3.0 ports that can both be used for games and media. Using an SSD on an Xbox One made Fallout 4 go from 56 second load times to 26 seconds. GTA 5 went from 89 seconds to 25 seconds. It also has cases where some games don't get a huge advantage from an SSD. Like Dead Rising 3 load times went from 20 seconds to 15 seconds.

Exclusives. I prefer PS4. I can play exclusives on PC for Xbone offerings. We also have another PS4 in the house as well. So we can share games digitally between the 2 systems. Xbone don't allow something like that. 

I own a PS4 to play certain games with friends, and because I like the exclusives better. Plus I grew up with the PS 2 and PS 3, so I grew up with some of the exclusive series.
 
Plus I don't care about 4k, I have a nice 1440 x 900 monitor that gets a great picture for my PC, and a decent 1080p television. I don't plan on shelling out the cash for a 4k television either. I might get a 1080 monitor someday (I'll be sure to look for a nice one too), but that will probably be with my next computer. That might be a while though.
 
In the end though, I guess it depends what you value. Resolution is kind of lower on my list. Graphics wise I prefer higher settings over running 4k, monitor-wise I want a quality monitor that gets a sharp image and has great colors, plus quality 4k monitors & televisions are very expensive and the affordable ones are crap and a 4k resolution doesn't compensate.

Improved. But work still needs to be done and no where near the level of XBL. At one point in time MS asked Sony if they wanted help with their network. Sony basically said get bent. Idiots.

Mine wasn't cheap either.   It's the build in my sig.  I'll swap out the 980Ti's for a pair of 780Ti's and the storage drives.  Those are going into something else.  Then it'll be moved downstairs to the living room.

If you watch movies and have a 4k HDR TV, then buying the Xbox One S is a no-brainer.   That's what I did.  I'm going to buy the limited edition PS4 Pro Last of Us 2 Edition when it launches someday! :)

I hate comparison videos like that. You need to see it in person. My sister has a PS4 with a 55" 1080p led tv in her bedroom. I have the Pro hooked up to the 65" 4k tv in the living. I can compare easily. Even she noticed right away the big difference seeing UC4 with the Pro on 4ktv. Pro is the real PS4 we should have got at launch 3 years ago. 

Well, that's the thing isn't it. When people use Huge 4k TV's you should know doubt see a big difference, but it also has to do with kind of brand of 4k TV as well as what year with slso what kid of LED to OLED and what kind of Processing power the TV's have and 120htz or more depending on how big your TV is. So of course Televisions the bigger they are and different brands,etc. That will play a big deal on whether to get a PS4 Pro or an XBox-Scorpio, which i must say I saw the graphics alone on my little 1080p PC monitor, and the Scorpio's graphics looked awesome.
 
I have a 'base PS4' with just an 1080p 32' inch TV in my room, and i don't of course need any 4k TV at all, especially with 5k monitors out and Will eventually take over the market later this Upcoming Christmas season i would think or in 2018 with 8k being the standard for 100' inch and above Wall sets.
Just my opinion on that last part.

I have since bought a pro , since i got it for free ( thanks Volkswagen ) but so far i have seen it as a waste of money. The only game i have that actually uses the pro is uncharted 4.
