P14124 (Cause: Cancer) is a whopping 4.5 Hour WU on the GTX 1080 Ti @ 2037MHz and over 1,100,000 PPD @ 200,000 for Credit. TPF: 00:02:40 Folding@home Project Description Projects 14124-14131 Cause: cancer These simulations are designed to test our understanding the folding mechanism of alpha-helical hairpins. We are trying to study how disulfide cross-linkers and sequence variants affect the folding thermodynamics and kinetics of these proteins, to learn how we might better use molecular simulation methods to design effective protein binder scaffolds, for use as "affibody" cancer therapeutics, for example. List of ContributorsThis project is managed by Prof. Vincent Voelz at Temple University. Dr. Voelz's research focuses on using new simulation methods to unravel the mysteries of how proteins self-assemble into their functional folds, and to design folding and binding properties of proteins and peptide mimetics from first principles. The Voelz Lab participates in the Folding@home project, hosting two servers at Temple University. Dr. Voelz was formerly a postdoctoral scholar in the Vijay Pande lab at Stanford University.

Both my 1050 ti and 1050 have this project running right now. 13 hours for the 1050 ti PPD at 7504 and 14 1/2 hours for the 1050 PPD at 5928. I feel like Stanford it trying to help EP win. LOL It's for a good cause so that's all the really matters.

I've seen these on RTX & 1080 Ti (4+ hrs...) killing my PPD I do not have an account on Stanford Folding @home so I can't send this up for anyone's attention - to possibly consider These are killer WU & either they should earn many more points or be reduced in size My 2080Ti will PPD at 2,250,000 almost any WU some more, some less .... these 14124 gave an estimate 1.6 Million PPD... (a 28% drop in PPD for those cards) - obviously their points system is less than perfect

Keep in mind this PPD decrease happens to everyone, so there is no real disadvantage. These folding WUs aren't that long, I am finishing up a 6 day 14 hour GIMPS prime95 task now. The other GIMPS task with a GPU folding will be 15 days. On an i7-8086k at 4.4 Folding is hurting GIMPS, but the GTX1080 is doing over 800k PPD GIMPS is using all 6 cores. i5-8600k at 4.4

Were the credits the same in beta and advanced? Maybe the units flagged as beta and advance are using old point calculations.

Did not go that far into it. But I do remember seeing HFM.NET get a few updates on this Project. As long as I do not get this Project I can stay above 16,000,000 PPD but will Drop below if I do get one.

I got and finished one of these today, seems to be a good work unit for my GTX 970 5min 36sec per frame avg for 9.33 hours to complete - Last 10 completed WU's as recorded in HFM: Actual credit was 139004 btw... I would be fine running them back to back to back so that you guys with the faster GPU's don't have to do these slow work units
