I’ve been experiencing shutdowns that don’t properly shut down. Lights stay on for everything. Aio cooler lights. Fan lights. Ram lights.

Even on restart my computer. Didn’t want to even restart. Unless I hold the power button. Anyone experience this? I looked up one possible answer to delete intel management engine.. haven’t tried it yet

Try installing the system drivers listed at the top of this post - https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2868066

If you scroll down in that thread bcavnaugh just posted a bunch of info today about the driver package.

Do you have windows fast startup disabled? If no, disable it, and see if that helps with the shutdown issue.

Was this OS Installed on a Different Motherboard and them put on the X299 Dark Motherboard?
If so what was the other Motherboard?
Did you ever run the DVD that came with the Motherboard and allow it to auto install all the Drivers?

no everything was a fresh install.. new m.2 with windows installed on it.. such a weird issue.. i figured out it takes about 5-10 min for my computer to restart.. idk if its a psu issue. or something else.

would you guys recommend doing cmos button reset?

i havent tried waiting that long for it to shut down but i will tonight.

I've tried allot of options ive look up online, going to try to do a fresh reinstall and see if that works when i get the time.

"no everything was a fresh install.. new m.2 with windows installed on it.." But you installed it while in the X299?
If that M.2 Has Windows Installed on it then that is your Problem.
When you install Windows on a M.2 NVMe Drive it needs to be the Only Drive Connected in the Computer, NO OTHER Hard Drives SATA SSD makes no difference. A DVD Drive is ok to have connected.

You have or have not done a CMOS reset. That Small Red Button will do that for you.
But make sure you go back in the Bios and set it back up, so know what your settings need to be.
