Other than boost clocks, what's the difference between the 3090 Ti FTW3 Black and the 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra? The product images and descriptions are exactly the same for both cards.
Probably a slight increase in OC headroom would be my guess. The slightly better chip will be on the ULTRA.
I wonder if EVGA actually goes through each card to figure out which overclocks better though.

GN has talked about the binning process of another AIB. Can't remember which but I imagine it's the same. They run tests, en masse, on each GPU in a socketable PCB that tells them about how well it performs, however this is usually before drivers are released so it isn't a perfect process.

I wonder how much max power the 3090Ti Kingpin can actually pull? It looks like it has 2x PCI 5.0 power connectors which can technically pull 600W each as well as 75W from the slot for a theoretical max of 1275W? Edit: Come to think of it they are putting adaptors with 3x8 pin so maybe 450W max on the 16 Pins for a max of 975W?

From looking at all of the other top AIB cards, it looks like Nvidia is forcing a bios with 516w limit being that multiple cards have that very specific number. However with XOC bios I'd imagine like 650-700w on ambient and 900+ with sub ambient and added voltage.

"Not for this one." Odd wording...maybe implying there will be one for another card? KP maybe? I'm kind of torn of hoping for an Optimus TI KPE block. The performance is awesome, but all their production and scheduling issues would have me worried. After my experience with the current KPE Optimus block, I'd almost hold off for another generation to get some better assurances about performance (but my issues were mainly with the backplate and that'd be gone with a tie block).

I'd be very surprised if they made a block for the KP Ti. I don't think they've made a block for the KPs since the 980 KP. Likely not large enough runs.

I'd be very surprised if they made a block for the KP Ti. I don't think they've made a block for the KPs since the 980 KP. Likely not large enough runs.
Same, I very much doubt EKWB will be producing a block for the KP, but I had to ask.  ..I didn't bother asking Optimus about it, because even if they do plan on making a KP Ti block, it would likely be a very long time before we saw any get sent out - I would expect not until early 2023 at best. Sadly, we may not ever see a 3090 Ti KingPin block from any source.. might just be the Hybrid, or Vince's LN2 blocks.  Wasted potential for non-LN2 users imo.

I thought the main reason for the delay with the Optimus KPE block was because of the complexity and technical challenges they had with making it both a fully-covered and double-sided block. I thought I remember them mentioning some special spacing and tolerance issues, then they had to order some special material to correct those issues, which caused some of the delays. Since a 3090ti Kingpin block wouldn't need to be double-sided, maybe they will be able to make a single-sided version faster than they did the 3090 Kingpin block? Or, has Optimus always taken forever to make blocks? Did it take them a long time to make the FTW3 block? I haven't been following them long enough to know.

Optimus have a history of delays.. best blocks on the market imho, but yeah, delays and broken promises... Good point though, since the Ti KP shouldn't need active cooling on the backplate, maybe they will make one, but I'd still expect significant delays - that's just how they roll.

Thanks for the link!  At least we know now that there will be an EK FTW3 block, so we can choose from an ICX FTW3 + an EK block, or whatever the Hydrocopper one is. If I had to choose, I'd go for the ICX + EK only because it's better resale value having both cooling options (and also there's no specs or price released for the Hydrocopper yet, although I'm presuming it has the same specs as the ICX FTW3 Ultra). Not looking good for the KingPin though. Hybrid or LN2, that's it (so far).

Hope we get a KP TI HC block. Going from the 3090 KPHC to the 3090 TI FTW3 HC sure looks like a wash on paper, esp if you are running the 1000w bios already

I'm curious how hindered people have been with queue 3.0 who already have gotten cards. I've gotten a bunch for friends and family on my account. Been trying to get my points up using the associate program to try to get in the top 300 to get the ability to pick up the KPE when it gets here. If that's even a thing for the KPE but I assume it would be.

I removed myself from the 3090 Ti KP Hybrid queue when it seemed apparent that nobody is going to do a block for it. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on eq for a full loop just to put an AiO in there. If this first batch of 3090 Ti FTW3's are binned, that might just push me over the edge... or I could wait for the 4000 series.. but the eventual 4000 series KP Ti with a block could be 18+ months away, or possibly never. First World problems lol.

That's awesome to know, thank you, I was completely unaware. I got a 3090 back in November 2020, when it was first come first serve - I got very lucky. I do have quite a high score, not sure if I'm in the top 300 though - maybe I am considering I just got the invite.

I wonder if EVGA actually goes through each card to figure out which overclocks better though.
Other than general tests for most to see in which SKU's they belong to, Kingpin's are the only carefully 'hand picked' silicon from the bunch.

Yeah, he said they binned them for not only clock but thermal and power limits. Have you already gotten a 30 series through the queue? I'm curious how hindered people have been with queue 3.0 who already have gotten cards. I've gotten a bunch for friends and family on my account. Been trying to get my points up using the associate program to try to get in the top 300 to get the ability to pick up the KPE when it gets here. If that's even a thing for the KPE but I assume it would be.

I'd assume. Either that or they've already gotten through the queue. I'm at 1100 points but no idea if that could put me in the top 300 especially when you consider the people that have been folding at home for years. It's way higher than most but nothing compared to some. Edit: looks like they've already made it through the queue for the FTW3 Black at they're available for direct sale.
