Leakers revise RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 power draw to 575W and 360W respectively — Up to 27% higher than last-generation RTX 40 GPUs
(excerpt)
Leaked power specifications of Nvidia's RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 GPUs allege up to 27% increase in power compared to the last generation, though still less than initially expected, courtesy of KopiteKimi and hongxing2020 at X. We aren't sure if these numbers correspond to the TGP or TDP. However the numbers still offer a glimpse of what to expect from Nvidia's next-gen Blackwell GPUs; which are alleged to be announced by Nvidia Founder and CEO Jensen Huang during his January 6 keynote.

I wished they (EVGA) would start making GPU's again , but I really don't know the cause for the reason EVGA quiting making them in the first place .

If true, that's quite a jump in power needed.  Time for a 5 slot cooler...

As long as that is the max draw, that is fine. The 3000 and then 4000 series had HUGE transient spikes that far exceeded the cable ratings that the cards were designed for. Which is why the ones with the most robust power inputs were the ones that thrived and survived in the 8-pin to 12-pin conversion era...
