I've got two 1080 FTW coming and would like to get one of these HB bridges at the same time. Does anyone know when they would be officially released? Thanks for the help!

I don't think there should be any issues with EKWB and sli bridges there seems to be a good amount of space.
Also the stock backplate can be put back on so you don't need to buy the ek one.

Nice. It looks like they should work with the EVGA bridge anyway. And good to hear about the backplate. Thanks for the update.

I hope these HB Bridges will be available soon...    surprised EVGA doesn't even have a page up for them or the option to pre-order yet!

I had a chat with NVIDIA about this yesterday and they said they had no idea. I can't even fathom how a company claims they spent millions on R&D on pascal but they can't configure a simple SLI bridge. They are past the design stage and have been tested so it has to be a software thing or a sales strategy. Either way it's a HUGE FAIL in my book.

Reviewers have reported having them from NVIDIA already and will post comparisons this week.  Jacob stated on Twitter within two weeks, I believe, so it has to be... soon.

Why on earth are these not for sale yet? My ribbon bridge seems to TANK 1080 SLI performance and I don't want to have to buy one of the now outdated LED bridges to hold me over..

Also to go with the NEW HB bridges can EVGA get 3-way SLI working at higher speed with their custom made bridges.

I have looking at a 3 monitor surround for a while and the new 1080 in 3-way SLI seems on paper to be the best way to get closer to 144hz on 3 - 1440p monitors.  Finally have the good IPS monitors 2 years of waiting at 1080p...  Problem is can we even enable it as they said they are not going to allow that to work or will NVidia be the problem now...

Doom, Unreal Tournament, and Battlefield Series...

Something as the community has gotten to about 90-100+fps on average with previous generation cards at very high graphics settings...  I have to turn most of the games down to get the target frame rates even at 1080p and I am running GTX 780TI Classified.

Does using two single bridges actually make a difference? I was under the impression that it didn't.

And yeah...kind of amazed that the HB bridges aren't out yet. Pretty ridiculous to advertise them leading up to the launch of the 1080 and still not have them available a month later.

That will be great but when do you think you may have a steady supply that everyone will be able to get one? Also I know that this is the wrong forum to ask this but here goes anyway. When will the GTX 1080 FTW be in stock in large quantities????? Everyone would like to know this answer!

For FTW right now I think by late June/July we will start seeing a lot more availability. Of course the demand right now is huge so it is hard to say exactly.

Re: Nvidia HB SLI Bridge 2016/06/16 00:12:15 (permalink)
For those wondering, I am successfully running 1080 2-way SLI (one direct Nvidia ordered, one Gigabyte Founder's edition - identical hardware) with the 3 way ASUS SLI Board I got with my Z170 WS Motherboard - it is 2 chains SLI connections on each board.  Of course, I need a gap between the cards.  NVidia control panel, comically, presents a message stating that my performance could be better with a high performance SLI bridge.  Thanks Nvidia, still waiting!

I've taken benchmarks with 980Ti Kingpin in SLI, and I'm tempted to purchase a 3rd card to compare 3 way 1080 sli (if it even works) with a standard bridge with HB SLI 2-way.

I am running 3x4k monitors @60hz.

The message goes away with 2 ribbon cables. Working for me for now. 10288 Firestrike Ultra on overclock, seems good.

Will be interesting to see if the new bridges are actually any improvement.

Re: Nvidia HB SLI Bridge 2016/06/16 17:32:27 (permalink)
The older cards hardware might not support it. Usually these things are backwards compatible, but not forward, so a new high bandwidth bridge will act like an older version on old generation hardware.

2 way SLI is the only method available for games without severe hacking of the system. It has been confirmed that the 3 and 4 way only activates for benchmark apps. 2 way SLI was way over dominant and Nvidia dropped the niche group doing more due to games not working well with it.

Yes it works with older cards, but at the lower bandwidth mode.

Looks like you don't even need a new bridge as long as you have a LED type bridge...
